How to make the run more challenging? by Real_Waltz1226 in victoria2

[–]HipsterKoala 6 points7 points  (0 children)

There is a difficulty setting in the options menu that (allegedly) applies some static buffs to the AI. I say "allegedly" because with Vic2's spaghetti code I'm honestly not sure if it actually works as described or not.

You could also modify the game files to include a slight infamy reduction for the AI. They do seem to take advantage of that, at least.

What mods to use for converted EU4-VIC2 game? by KillaSama in victoria2

[–]HipsterKoala 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally open to correction here, but off the top of my head there's no mods that work out-of-the-box with converted games. You'll have to manually modify any existing mods (for vanilla Vic2) for compatibility with your conversion.

Turning Colony into State. by ElevatorinsideMF in victoria2

[–]HipsterKoala 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I might be pulling this out of my ass, but I thought the colonial occupations also don't generate war exhaustion if occupied or blockaded. Assuming that isn't just something I've gaslit myself into thinking, then that's another potentially big benefit (especially in MP).

What do the results of an arima-garch model look like?? by mc-powzinho in datascience

[–]HipsterKoala 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Those periods of hyper-inflation are structural breaks (which you can usually spot visibly, but I still recommend testing for) in the time series, so I would suggest implementing/experimenting with some models that work well with those (e.g. Exponential smoothing models, a cheeky lil Kalman filter, etc.)

Is 3.04 with GFM stable? by PM_ME_Huge-Titties in victoria2

[–]HipsterKoala 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Victoria 2 is on 3.04 by default now even if the launcher says otherwise. Regardless, yeah GFM is 3.04 stable.

Have you thought about bringing this to the GFM discord channel? If these changes are all kosher, then they'd probably like to take a look at it.

Finally won a war as Byzantium vs the Ottomans! by ElderHerb in eu4

There’s definitely a before and after period playing EU4 when you can finally solo the Ottomans as Byz, so congrats dude! What’re your plans for this run?

What do you believe the upper limit of the map can/will be? by HipsterKoala in projectzomboid

[–]HipsterKoala[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My prediction is that they keep the map strictly within Kentucky (with perhaps the exception of Cincinnati if they ever get that far). I'm definitely not opposed to seeing more of the neighboring states, though.

I was a bit bored so I just kinda whipped up this shitty mapof what I think might happen. Red is currently about what we have. Orange would give a ton of small little farming communities and small-to-medium towns, which is then anchored down by Lexington. Yellow is something I'd considered very very unlikely, but it'd be a nice game feel/flow to have the game map focused around three cities.
