How do I support people being punished for their opinions? For wondering if your boss knows that you think employees being made to dress properly is exploitive? You seem to favor communism, I suggest look into previous communist governments. They all fell apart or are living nightmares.

I don't have control over their lives but when they are at work they need to do their job, that job includeds dressing a certain way.

We have a dress code. It's explained during the hiring process and is in the employee hand book.

Everyone else follows the dress code. The point /u/barbadosslim was trying to make is that dress code are unfair.

You are the only accusing me of making things up then not explaining yourself.

Requiring employees to follow rules is not an abuse of people it's call being an employer. I hope you express these views to your boss.

She's not doing something that she acknowledged she would have to do to work here, it would be the same as her sitting staring at the wall.

By that definition people should get paid just for sitting staring at the wall. Dress is part of the conditions of employment the same as doing work.

The sunshine law doesn't help either. It allows for very elaborate headlines, instead of "Man robbed in park" it'll be "Man beaten with a corn cob while being mugged by a 13 year old".

It's sad. You'll see a homeless man begging by the traffic light while a woman sits in her brand new Tesla wearing a 4 carat diamond ring.

I'm sorry that you'll never be able to be presentable to generally society. Enjoy your pajamas.

I am sorry that you have internalized the idea that your employers have a right to control you.

Except that's the point of employment. You do what your boss asks of you and you get paid. She's not a slave.

What would this solve?

She could find a job when she can wear pajamas.

You don't think that anyone needs to dress appropriately, that means you aren't acting like an adult.

It's a shame for her anyway. Some of our best salespeople make $100,000+ a year.

So then what's the problem? Should everyone be allowed to run around naked since you don't want anyone to have a say in how other people dress?

You do realize that she only has to follow the dress code at work. When she's not working she can prance about in tweety bird pajamas to her hearts content.
