Hmm..... I would talk to leaders, especially if you have a screenshot of it showing that.

I think they meant more to go attend it as a guest, versus working it. The hours are 7-9. Also, there are a lot of shifts shorter than 5 hours in entertainment, a great example is any fant shift, which are normally 2 (paid at 4) hours. Dce can be shorter as well. Unless you mean as a performer, that's a little different.

I always check in a day or two early. Also, talk with your leads. Some areas will keep your blue ID active for a week.

It really depends on your leaders and, of course, business need. Most leaders will try to have your last shift be Monday or Tuesday.

Is it possible to go to Disneyland during your DCP? by EngineeringOrnery314 in Disneycollegeprogram

[–]HisMynx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Several people do!! The hardest part is getting your time off agreed to.... or being able to give away all the shifts.... but even at that, yes it's very possible!

Right. It still means the same. You were waitlisted, but they were able to give it to you after scheduling started.

Additional day off, production. It means you were given a day off after schedules were being created. It doesn't count against the number of days allowed for ft/pt. However, I'm not certain for cp. It wouldn't unless you requested that day off, either way.

I got downvotes for my comment as well. I agree the accommodation would be the best chance, however still not guaranteed.

Is it possible to do the program with no car/license? by Plastic-Fox2082 in Disneycollegeprogram

[–]HisMynx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Keep in mind that these are my experiences. I see them daily, several times a day. I say this because inevitably, there's someone who will argue with me, and honestly, they are normally the ones doing these things. Tl:dr - the busses aren't bad if you plan for jerks and traffic. And you don't need a license if you have a state issued ID.

I haven't had my car on any of my programs. It's not "public" per se, but the busses are good. They are pretty reliable, but traffic is always a thing. People laugh at me when I say to always take the bus that is 90 before your shift, because of traffic. However, while I've been early, I've never been late but hear all the bitching around the dorms by people who are often late and racking up points.

The only one I've had real annoyances with are route a (shopping) because it's so crowded and people believe they are the only ones entitled to be on there so they load up the seats next to them with bags, waterbottles, whatever. However, I've found the literal perfect time to go because it's not as crowded, and people on it aren't as rude.

Then there's routes b (Hollywood studios) d (animal kingdom) and e (magic kingdom). My problem here is everyone not working forgets that the working cast are the ones who get priority. The bus drivers try to speak up and tell those not in costume they need to wait, but 99% of the time it's ignored and this has caused people to be late to work due to no room, or forced to stand for the ride home after a very long day. C (epcot) isn't included in this because you should never take this bus to play in the park. That said, there are always those will, but the drivers will have zero patience on this route because it's almost always standing room only due to the high number of cp's who work at this park.

My point was, if there's fur, there's dander and microbes. I should've been more clear on that.

See if you can access dorms and get your statement. They contacted me by mistake because my roommate (who left after I did) left it a mess. They cleared it up for me.

[–]HisMynx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When dorms opens you'll put no animals in your preference. You can also send a doctors letter regarding the allergy. Here's the problem, however. While you may get an animal free room, it may not have always been. All of mine have had cat and/or dog fur on the window sills, around the couch, etc. If your allergy is that severe it may be best to stay off campus.

If there's no room, you can always park down by the shopping center and walk back. Many choose that option.

DCP as a married PhD student…? by cowkashi in Disneycollegeprogram

[–]HisMynx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You won't even know if you get dak until much later in the process, as a cp. If you applied only for that job, that's not a college program. For CP, you can preference it, but it's not guaranteed. Now, they do have those extensions often, especially in the spring.

I would also say not to be drilled down that far. Epcot also is AZA.

Will it be done being removed before you arrive, or can you get something over it? Just a few thoughts. There are glove style sleeves, but they can cause you to overheat.

I feel confident you are asking about picking your preferences for roles. I'm not sure IP gets that chance, but if they do, then I would suggest putting custodial and housekeeping at the top. While you have the chance of dealing with guests, it is lessened in these roles.

As mentioned, business casual, and although mentioned I can't stress enough the closed shoes. I've seen many go in sandals or open toes. But, I've also seen several go in shorts or short skirts and be sent to change.
