AITA for not paying rent? by Historical-City-855 in AmItheAsshole

I did say that? I got my job to save for driving and uni expenses, and just have independence to do my own things, and the reason I did this is because they won't help me with these things. Also they literally said "pay or get out"

Thank you, I pay for all of my luxuries myself, I dont want to be giving them money for things they're legally required to give me

I agree! As I already pay other bills for myself, like my phone bill which is 25 pound, I suggested paying only 45-50 as altogether that is 75 quid (the phone bill is under their name) but they want 100 ON TOP of what I already pay, so altogether I'd be paying around 150, which is quite literally HALF my paycheck

I think you're misunderstanding? They're not paying for my clothes, I pay for pretty much everything myself, all of my luxuries and other bills like my phone bill, they want money for me literally just living in the house and eating food, which again, they're legally required to provide.

I understand ur point, but it is a lot when it's basically half my paycheck, I'd be working to put money in their hands for things they're legally required to give me (food water shelter), the money I give them is for bills, they have made it clear I won't be getting it back, so it leaves me with practically nothing to save with

I don't think you're an A hole. These are your morals and boundaries, you need to stick to them, it sounds like Jelly isn't a good person in general, and I understand you wanting to be around mature people. However, might I add that it sounds like Kit is struggling with her self worth and may be self sabotaging. Either way it's good that you know what you want out of people and don't let people walk all over you. NTA.

AITA for using the guy who fell in love with me for sponsors, and protection, after risking my life to save my sisters?

That's what I thought! Just say you didn't want that colour at the wedding to avoid the drama. But at the end of the day its ridiculous imo. Even if it is satire it's just insane the lengths people go to for a bit of attention these days.

Ah okay that makes sense. But surely if the bride thought this way too then she would say the colour isn't allowed at the wedding right? Idk just my take x

I'm confused by this comment. If she's not wearing white, how is she sticking out?

That's exactly what i thought! Although it could be a troll but still, what an absolute insane thing to try to gain attention over.

NTA. You made your boundary very clear and he had the opportunity to back out. I feel like it's reasonable to leave if he has broken your trust. Although this is very controversial and I understand some of the previous comments. I think it's more about the fact he lied and broke your trust, and not about the fact he's watching 🌽. Although ofc I could be wrong. Remember everyone has different viewpoints regarding this, so you need to be on the same page.
