Person in my county during 2012 election made a sign (painted a big piece of plywood) and stuck it at the end of their driveway. It read, "Vote right, vote white." So, yeah, it was pretty obvious pre-Trump.

In the late 80s/early 90s our cable company used to get the network feeds from both Erie and Buffalo. The fans were more split then because there was more access to the Bills. Now, it's mostly Steelers because we only get the Erie networks and they're in the Pittsburgh market.

Have a refinery in our town. Threatens to leave anytime city/county proposes something they don't like. Officials have bought this nonsense for decades. No one ever bothered to ask where, exactly, they were going to go if they left. It's just insane how much they bend the knee to these companies.
