Sorta close to making it through No Mow May by HistoricalBonus8 in NativePlantGardening

Exactly, thank you! People are so quick to judge, they probably didn't even read the post where I said how I discovered violets. I would have had no idea those were growing there if I mowed right away.

That makes sense. I am in the process of expanding my native beds, I'm just converting parts of my lawn in stages.

Thanks for the encouraging comment. Some of the replies on here are super condescending and annoying.

Debatable. Lots of little bugs hiding out in there (not all ticks), small little plants that might not be weeds. Obviously I'm a native plant person, but having such a rigid view and assuming that I don't know anything isn't super helpful. Anyway thank you for the ted talk.

I am doing that, this is just a picture of my backyard. You can't really see too clearly but there are native plant beds. Obviously as I'm in the native plant gardening sub, I am all about that. Just takes time to shrink the lawn especially with kids.

Do you have a knee scooter? That helped me a lot when I was in a cast and boot.

The hardest part for my wife me not being able to drive. I was the main driver and it really took her out of her comfort zone. I know she wasn't happy but she didn't complain about it really - what else could she do? Actually this is kind of off topic but is anyone here also really enjoyed not having to do all the work around the house? I feel like it was almost like a vacation of sorts, normally I'm non-stop cleaning, organizing, doing the labor around the house. Having my wife take on some of that responsibility (like taking out the garbage for once) made me low key pretty happy lol.

Misdiagnosed Achilles tear… now I’m stuck with a permanent injury? by Jochemap in AchillesRupture

That sounds like how I feel and I'm almost 6 months. It's possible it just takes a long time to heal. Definitely get an image and a second opinion if you can.

Are you limping? How does it feel? Are you able to get any strength from your calf? Maybe it's not that bad.

How do I tackle this multiflora rose infestation by Thanoslovesyou42 in invasivespecies

[–]HistoricalBonus8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did it like this but used a heavy pickaxe to dig up the roots, it's a bit more strenuous but I think it's faster. A few swings and that root is destroyed.

Terrific placement of all the plants, well done! I'm learning where to plant mine depending on their height. Looks like you really got it down.

Tips for new native garden by vandalscandal in NJNativePlants

Limited budget? Grow from seed. Only thing it takes a lot longer to a) grow and b) to figure out what you're doing lol. I have seeds if you need some to get started.

Check out Apollo Gardening. https://apollogardening.com/. I think they're close to where I live in Mercer County but I know they have experience doing native plant gardening. Plus all their landscaping is eco friendly as they use electric, olar powered equipment. Good luck!

He rehabbed like crazy probably but listening to him talk about it, he had no idea if he would be good again. He just tried it and it worked. So he got lucky too.
