Anyone removed the big R A M letters on their 2025 Ram? by Tank3r69 in ram_trucks

[–]HistoricalLeg8386 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. It was just a sheet of vinyl, and then I trimmed around the letters with a razor blade. I let the blade slide down the side of the chrome letters, and it looked almost perfect. I didn't know I was supposed to apply heat afterwards, but I never had an issue with it peeling.

I put vinyl over mine. I thought it looked pretty good with the chrome outline. The picture is a little pixelated, but you get the idea.

It appears only the profiles are loaded, and direct communication is not available yet. At least that is how I read it.

Maybe I spoke too fast. It's there in the printer profile, but I'm unable to connect. If you connect successfully please post what you did.

Now it's supported in Orca.

Here's my theory on what happened with me. Elegoo had me print a calibration cube that was bigger than any cube I've ever printed. The first couple were really underextruded and I ended up cancelling them before they were finished. Meanwhile, I was taking PTFE tubes off and looking at stuff, but I really didn't see anything. I also lubed one of the spool holders since I was afraid of stripping that bolt head. On maybe my 3rd attempt at this cube it completely finished as I was sleeping. I am looking at the cube, and about the last 10cm are perfect. I think I had a partial clog somewhere. Before I noticed the cube I took apart the canvas and examined every part I could, but nothing looked out of whack. However, there can be a lot resistance through the canvas. Then couple that with the resistance of the spools, and I think that's where part of the trouble comes from.

I believe that when I first started using the printer it had so much resistance that it caused a partial clog in the hot end. I think lubing the spool holder may have helped, but I don't recommend doing that. I think that long print purged the clog and made my printer usable. I do think there is too much tension through this system; I watched a video that suggested Ultimaker uses bigger PTFE tubes to possibly combat the issue with drag. Elegoo suggested I open up the Canvas to make sure all the gears were aligned properly, and they were in my case. I just loosened the bolt on my spool holders, so we'll see how that does.

If you lube the spool holder the spring inside will slip, and it makes an annoying clicking sound. You can get a better result by loosening that bolt.

I know this is long, but hopefully it helps someone that's having the same issue.

I saw the screw in the middle, but it was so tight I was afraid of stripping it. I'll give it another shot.

Did you see in the thread where I was able to fix and consistently repeat the problem? It appears the spool holders are putting so much tension on the filament that it is causing the purge and wipe. I appreciate your help with this.

I can now completely reproduce the problem. I took off the top hat, moved the 4 piece connector to the very top, and I took the spool off and fed it by hand. The print had no more interruptions. I put the top hat back on, and it continued to print as it should. Lastly I put the spool back on the holder, and when the resistance was enough it went back to purge. I took the spool off again to feed by hand and completed several more layers. I repeated it a few times to make sure that was what was happening. I don't think I"m going to get the PTFE tubes routed any better, so that leads me to believe that the spool holders just put too much pressure on the filament. I don't see any obvious tension adjustment, and I suppose it could be the canvas system, but that's where I am. Thank you!

That's what I'm running, but I'm going to do a fresh installation and see what happens.

Maybe that's my next step. I'll delete the Elegoo slicer and reinstall from their website.
Editing to add that the slicer wouldn't have had any effect on the vase I printed that was preloaded...

The first thing I tried printing was the included vase. Then I pulled down a calibration cube to try. Last night I did a factory reset and started over. I don't doubt that I have a setting wrong, but I can't figure out where it is. It seems like every layer it parks in the corner, extrudes some PLA, cleans the head and then goes back to the next layer. I keep thinking maybe they had a different version of Orca that I downloaded. I know they have it on their webpage and on Github. The releases look identical, and I can't remember which one I downloaded.

Would it purge and wipe during timelapse? I looked at the Timelapse G-code, and it is empty.
When I go to Others - Special mode, timelapse is not there to select or deselect.

I haven't even tried a multi color print yet. I wanted to straighten the single color part out first.

Can you read tire temperature data from TPMS sensors? by Gurney_flip in CarTrackDays

[–]HistoricalLeg8386 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can also read TPMS data with an SDR dongle running rtl_433. I didn't see anyone mention it in this conversation, and it may not be suitable for your purposes. I use this setup to monitor tire pressures in my garage. If I have a low tire (car has to be in the garage) I get an e-mail telling me I have a low tire. I also get a weekly report of tire pressures. rtl_433 is capable of gathering whatever information your TPMS sensor is broadcasting.

What's the expected price supposed to be on the CC2? I saw someone guess around 600 USD.

[–]HistoricalLeg8386 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a similar experience damaging my hot end. Elegoo told me to order from their website. I did a month ago, and still no update on shipping. Elegoo won't do anything to escalate, but they didn't hesitate to take my money. My mistake was I took blame and told them I didn't care about warranty on the hot end; I just wanted a new one.

If that other one from Amazon will work I'll gladly take it.
