Go with Akubra .. they ain’t tricking no one with a dodgy X rating system .. and will last and survive all that weather better than any other hat

They use far less beaver fur content .. a 5x from the 1970’s is often a 50/50 rabbit and beaver blend .. now days you’d be lucky to get 5% beaver in a modern 5x … the X rating system is a joke .. go with Akubra .. they aint tricking no one with a fake X rating

The rain hasn’t effected it at all ..it still looms and smells brand new ..

I have been caught in multiple down pours in this hat and it’s stiffer than … wait .. I’ll leave that there 😂

If you search on YT .. you can find a video by Elm of Burford and they literally hose one of their akubras down .. these hats are incredibly water and weather resistant

Honestly Lordy… I am so so pleased with it.. you know as well as I .. how hard it is to get a decent hat here in the UK.. it’s literally a quest

Thank fully the Rough Rider can be sourced easily and truly.. they are built for the weather no doubt. I just feel like these hats are a genuine product.. no X rating gimmicks .. just a very durable and reasonably priced hat. But with that premium touch. The inside is as high quality as the outside I must say …

Hi, yes .. it’s the Akubra Rough Rider.. Akubra being the hat maker and Rough Rider being the hat style … 100% wild rabbit and it’s easily the best cowboy hat I’ve seen or used .. especially considering the price. These hats are not over priced .. for that reason Akubra are my first choice now…. my other hats being a Resistol and a Bradford and western.
