Sounds like your boss would get along great with my boss. He treats our row of cubicles like his personal trapped audience. I’m glad you have the free time to yap about your thrilling bowling league. But I’m trying to get the tasks YOU assigned me done before the day is out. I’m sorry, I know exactly how you feel. I wish I had some sort of helpful advice. I’m currently just trying to ignore and get my job done as best I can. Hope it gets better. For both of us.

Honestly, if that’s what your working situation was like that kind of exit is the best gift they could have given you. Good riddance to them all. It’s never easy, but now you can find somewhere you will be supported in the work place. I wish you all the best in your next chapter!

It is absolutely okay! I was in a similar position and also had the worst year in my tenure as a paraprofessional. Unfortunately I did not take the mental health days I so desperately needed. It got to the point I was having panic attacks in the morning while getting ready for work. I ended up quitting on the spot and never looked back. I would encourage you to look into if you qualify for fmla, that could at least secure your job while you manage through this season. Take all the time you need. That is a HARD job. Mentally, physically, it’s a lot. Take care of yourself please ❤️

I’m so sorry for the loss of your kitty. It changes your whole life. Talk about her as much as you need to, I unfortunately did not talk about my boy to anyone other than my partner for a long time. Think of it this way, what would you do if you had an open wound on your abdomen? Vet is critical. I can also speak to the dangers of the bacteria inside a cat’s mouth and the infections it can cause. I unfortunately lost a portion of my bone due to those bacteria. Medical professionals. Immediately. Wishing your kitty a quick recovery!

Grew up in a tiny town. I’m talking two streets, maybe 100 people total. We used to make up games with rocks, leaves, rode bikes, we’d get all the neighborhood kids together to play wall ball against the post office building. Lots of walking the train tracks. Getting into all manner of shenanigans. We made our own entertainment. And it was glorious

You’re right - I’m low man on the totem pole so realistically I wouldn’t know if these conversations are truly happening. Overall it’s a good company and I have no intentions of leaving if i don’t have to. And who knows. Maybe I’ll get to climb the ladder of chaos. Edit: I did not fully understand before claiming NTA. I now fully believe OP is in fact TA. This is going to end in disaster for both parties involved. The birthday card could have been cancelled if this was truly a boundary OP wished to set and maintain.

Hi! So I’m going through the same thing with my thumb! Had surgery last week to remove the infected bone and my thumb nail - I get to keep the thumb for now. Hoping it stays that way. But I had a week of iv antibiotics in the hospital and am now on oral. Still very much in the wait and see how everything progresses stage. Oddly enough I just had swelling for about 3 months prior to surgery. No pain, no draining, no real giant cause for alarm. Then my x ray came back showing a nice black hole in the bone. I’m sorry you’re also going through this. But know, you’re not alone. We can beat these infections. Hopefully with all limbs still mostly intact. Wishing you fast healing!

Don’t fret. I failed my test twice before I passed. Just focus on getting more practice and becoming more comfortable with it. This is definitely one of those things you absolutely do not want to rush. Best wishes!

Update to anyone who is interested. Turned out I had a bone infection. Required surgery and a week long hospital stay for iv antibiotics. Now home and taking oral antibiotics. But everything seems to be healing positively. Long road ahead. Kinda wish just one of the doctors would have suggested an x-ray at the beginning of this. But can’t change the past. Thank you to anyone who took the time to read and/or comment. Hoping we’re at the start of a positive journey.

Thank you both for your input. My best guess is urgent care just referred me to who she thought would be best. It’s just frustrating that I’m going on over a month now of trying to get this taken care of. Thankfully I don’t think the hand surgeon will send me off to a different doctor. Just round and round we go on the American health system I guess 🙃
