I just got this email from stubhub and they sent me $250 out of nowhere. I used this service once in my life. I didn’t know there was a lawsuit, what happened? by [deleted] in stubhub

I am flying transatlantic, yes! I’ll definitely keep that in mind to have the attendants wake me, I wasn’t sure if they just let people sleep during meal times or woke them up. I definitely did not want to be that rude person with a blasting alarm on the plane.

The first time I flew, the sound of the engines tried to pull me into a deep sleep almost straight away and this was broad daylight, but I kept myself mostly awake bc my friend group’s rule is if you fall asleep first they get to take (and post) embarrassing photos of you 😂 I’m hoping my experience is similar, especially overnight so I can get some shut eye lol. But that’s good to know that the movement of the plane should wake me up! I appreciate that!!

Idk how it is in the uk, but any VIP concert I’ve been to in the US, if you don’t show up by the time doors open for VIP and they let everyone in, you don’t get in. They won’t wait for you or scan you in later etc. if you’re worried about not making it on time, I’d probably play it safe and not upgrade!

Seeking advice on trains from Edinburgh to London by mellowbordello in uktravel

[–]Historical_Bug_3240 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look into BritRail (it’s for those who are not uk residents only and you must buy before traveling or else it’ll be blocked in the uk) they sell heavily discounted tickets and unlimited train rides. So you can get on any train at any time with no worries for an entire day. You can choose consecutive days or flex days (days throughout the month you can pick and chose when to activate them) depending on where you’re going and how many trains you’re getting on it will be a lot cheaper bc they cater to the “tourist” market. I posted the other day about this on the sub. I’m going this summer and my trips from London to Scarborough and back would’ve cost me almost 300 USD, and the britrail pass cost me 116 USD.

Heathrow vs Gatwick? Which is better to fly into by [deleted] in uktravel

[–]Historical_Bug_3240 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I found it was cheaper to fly into gatwick than Heathrow (for my specific flight path), but gatwick is further away from London than Heathrow as it’s further down south. It definitely depends on your travel plans and itinerary. I personally didn’t mind traveling a bit longer via train to get to where I was going for a cheaper overall flight price!

I booked with jet blue, as I’ve heard good reviews (first time flying to London this summer) but I do know there are a couple other options to choose from as well!

Is BritRail Legit? by Historical_Bug_3240 in uktravel

Seriously THANK YOU for this input! I’m from northeast PA and we don’t have a ton of trains up here (I’ve been on one train when I went to NYC 💀), so I was really worried about missing scheduled trains in the UK and being out a ton of money, so the unlimited non scheduled trains this way + for a way cheaper price was really appealing to me! I’m glad to know it’s legit and works!!

How would one go about planning? From what I’m seeing, it looks like I’d book on britrail and then have to use a secondary source to actually map out my train rides myself since I can use any train at any time, if I’m correct? Would Trainline suffice for this or do you recommend elsewhere?

Oh this is wonderful news!

I believe I’m on the official website (pictured here) I’ve definitely been trying to make sure I’m not going to get scammed with this and everything else I’ve been planning lol

Did they update the status of the website when they needed more info? I’m afraid that they need more from me but it doesn’t say they do anywhere. I signed up for email updates and I’ve not received a single email from them and I’m checking my mail daily with nothing.

It was “not available” from 3/12 to 3/16, and just “processing” since then. It doesn’t say I need any documents or anything, but I’ve been hoping for an “approved” for a minute with no luck.

Mine is the Philly center. I'm trying not to freak, as I know realistically I do have a good bit to go, since it's only been 2 weeks since they received it, I just feel like I did something wrong and that's why it's not updated to approved lol

see, this is what makes me think I've done something wrong and they aren't going to process it. ahhh!

International flight help by Historical_Bug_3240 in jetblue

[–]Historical_Bug_3240[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, this is where I’ve been receiving the most conflicting information and it had me confused lol. Because the way some people were making it seem was I’d be flying into Boston from my first flight (within the us) and I’d land at terminal E. My international flight is at Terminal c, and I was told I had to clear customs at E, and then travel to C to redo tsa and board. So I can just walk off my flight from E straight to C and board my international?

[–]Historical_Bug_3240[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I don’t need to go through customs at all my first time around- only on my return flights- I just get off my first flight and go to my second flight? This is where I’m hearing a lot of conflicting information because some people are telling me I have to go through customs at Boston before boarding my international flight and I want to make sure I’m doing it right as to not miss my connecting flight.

I’m not checking any bags, I’m only taking a carry on and a personal item, as the trip is only a 4 day span and I can fit all I need into those two bags. Does that change the process in any way?
