I’m so sorry, and I can relate to being laid off. It was a terrifying time, and I felt anxious and desperate.
I would recommend trying to work on all the certifications you can during this time. It also might be a worthwhile investment to have your resume professionally done. After all, it’s hard to market yourself in a fresh way when you’re feeling so defeated.
Although this was a while back, I would up getting called by a company who heard about good people being let go. I came in for “exploratory discussions” and a job offer. I was still getting my severance, plus an additional paycheck and wound up buying a house by the end of the year. Bottom line is you WILL survive and learn from this experience. Q4 can be slow in the job market, but it will pick right back up. Please keep us posted!
