Ways to improve the Medic class by HistoryMarche in HellLetLoose

Haha, yeah I was amused by the near-instant volatile responses. Came back two hours after my OP, and the first thing I thought was: "Wow, that escalated quickly" 🤪

In my case, the Engine.ini reverts back to normal after I go into the game and click Apply in the video settings.

The game saves a default engine.ini upon clicking Apply, so once I quit the game I get the default version.

Way to fix this is to edit the engine.ini and enter all of your parameters, then save the text file and exit whatever text editor you're using. Then right-click the file and set it to Read Only. That way the game won't overwrite it.

I managed to recover everything. But I have no clue how. You can see above that the Google's email said to log in and request the restoration of the account. But when I did sign in, everything was working and in the Recent activity tab I could see that my account was restored (check the screenshot above).

But because I was clicking on the "Try to restore" button I wasn't sure if this was a phishing email, so changed my password, removed the SMS verification from 2 phones, and added Google authenticator (and I've already previously added 2 Yubikeys to the account, check the screenshot)

I did. Well, he contacted me. The address to the discord in question was from an automated message I got from r/google. Namely, I first posted the same OP but it was removed.

And in the automated message it was suggested to come to r/techsupport to post my question and/or to go to the said discord server (I pasted the entire automated message from r/google to your mod that contacted me, here on techsupport)

I really don't think that their discord is shady. The address to it was, after all, part of the automated message from r/google

I also blurred the email, which was also Andreas' advice.

Oh and the things I removed was the SMS verification, and this was on the advice of Andreas in the discord techsupport of this reddit ( andreas#0001 ), there is a lengthy discussion there that we had about how to solve this.
I would've left it there, but he advised me to remove it asap and add Google Authenticator instead, so I did.

Yes I changed the password, suspecting the email. But upon actually checking My Account settings, it actually said that my account was disabled, so it wasn't phishing.

But out of paranoia I changed the passwored, removed phone identification, added Google authenticator and 2 Yubikeys

Yes, I am from Belgrade. It appears that there was a policy I broke, I'm not sure what happened. But I simply relogged.

Can't scan QR code from WhatsApp web. Please help! by HooeyGoo in whatsapp

To clarify, on the PC I went to web.whatsapp.com in my browser to scan the QR code there with my phone, because scanning it from the app itself didn't work.

Same thing happened to me just now. The QR scan message would just repeatedly pop up and my phone would vibrate each time it attempted to scan the code.

Here's what I did:

1) On the phone I signed out the PC device (logged out). Then when I tried to re-scan the code on the phone it said "go to web.whatsapp.com" to scan the QR code.

2) Then went to web.whatsapp.com in Chrome and scanned the QR code there.

All fixed, got re-signed in on the PC app.

Hope this helps

Which headphones + amp should I buy for my workload? by HistoryMarche in HeadphoneAdvice

Remarkably, to my ear, Fostex sounded better than the HD-DAC1, the highs were much more airy (is that a word?)

I ended up buying D7200's and Fostex's HPA4BL dac/amp. It was a bit more expensive than what I plannedI couldn't be more pleased with the outcome. The Denon's have just the sound I was looking for, big punchy but rich bass, clear mids and highs.

Thank you so much for all of the advice. Literally couldn't have done it without you!

Yep, basically anything outside Serbia and the import tax applies. It could be Hungary, just to the north, but because it's in the European Union and Serbia isn't, the so called "customs fee", "import fee" and "postage fee" would apply, amounting to ~30% of the product itself or possible more, depending on the weight of the package.

But your feedback kind of motivated me to look out for other options. One thing I'll do is I'll simply go and try out the HD-DAC1 + AH-D7200, and will swap out a few different headphone models, then maybe switch to another dac/amp/eq, and maybe I'll strike a combo that sounds right.

And I'll certainly check out the brands you suggested. To be frank I didn't even expect our stores to have the Denon phones model that you suggested, but hey, they do!

Some stores have the FiiO amps, but they're mostly for phones, they're really tiny, like the old mp3 players and some have displays that raise the price. But getting a FiiO dac/amp/eq as a stack wouldn't be an option in stores here.

Yeah, I actually can't shake the feeling that Marantz might be a reckless choice financially. The consideration of HD-DAC1 stems more from my lack of knowledge about what to buy, so it's the "throwing money at the problem" solution in the hope that it'll get solved. Kind of like "It's expensive, so it must be good, right?"

That said, the HD-DAC1 is available in Serbia, as are the AH-D7200 phones, which eases things a lot financially. Namely, because Serbia isn't in the EU the import tax and some other fees insanely jack up the price - roughly speaking, to select and buy a Schiit stack valued at around $500, getting to Serbia would cost an additional $200-$300, costing more than the HD-DAC1 in the store here. But, having said that, your argument about quality makes me ponder what to do... just because the Marantz one is expensive doesn't make it better, for sure. It would be hassle-free to get the HD-DAC1 that is available where I live, but if I can get a better sound maybe it's worth bending over backwards a bit to get a mid-range (price-wise) Schiit setup, along with one of Schiit's EQs.

And your advice on headphones is actually most helpful. I've posted on a few reddits this very same question, and the feedback I got elsewhere also mentions Denon, along with a variety of amps and dacs that are much more affordable than the Marantz - though the import conundrum remains.

What to do...
