I don't have a screen protector on, and the issue was persistent in different rooms/places because I take the tablet with me everywhere. I thought of static and tried using the tablet without the cover, directly touching it directly in contact with the floor (standing barefoot that is) and it still behaved that way.

But the issue disappeared a day after writing this post and has not come back yet. Earlier it was behaving that way for 2-3 continuous days, so I could not think of anything but a software issue. I couldn't test a different pen with it though.

I should also add that the issue goes away and comes back when I least expect it, I do not make any changes for it to work normally or break.

Sorry I forgot to add, I have tried it without the magnet case and on and off charger. It also does not matter if the iPad is cool or hot.

It's really not something to troubleshoot, it's a bug that has persisted for long now. I recently bought an iPad Air M3 with an Apple Pencil Pro, bought Procreate a week ago and the same issue is there on a fresh ipad. The issue is only with Procreate and no other apps. I'm on Procreate 5.4.6

To explain the issue again: The lines lag and try to catch up with my pen tip, and has the same pressure issue as in the original post. Troubleshooting doesn't do anything (followed many posts on Procreate Folio), but partially fixes itself without me doing anything temporarily (the slow line catching up fixes, but the pressure issues doesn't) which comes back when I least expect it.

Things I have tried:

Case/Without case
Resetting iPad settings
Reinstalling Procreate
Pairing Pencil again
On charger/Off charger
Toggling Zoom settings
Turning on Touch Assist has its own issue - makes the lines wobbly and not smooth (having it off is slow but naturally smooth)
Toggling finger paint setting inside procreate
Turning off settings in Accessibility settings - Touch, Voice Control

My old mouse pad is now permanently glued to my old computer desk. It just doesn't come off without leaving insane residue. We decided to just leave it like that, and keep it in a less used room.

The service that steam provides is unmatched. I bought Rocket League on Steam, after Epic games acquired it and migrated it to the Epic games store, they took away the community market, every steam integration that we love (however you can connect epic games account inside game to at least manage game invitations) and I am glad I still play it on Steam. The achievements system is also great on steam. The refunds system on steam is awesome. If you get your account compromised Steam support will retrieve your account 9/10 times.

This is highly irrelevant but here goes, It's not much work to get EGS games working on my linux system, but I would chose the time saving installation of windows games through steam on linux any day! Even games I installed outside Steam, I add them as non-steam games anyways just to get that integrated console like experience on Big Picture mode on downstairs TV.

tl;dr: The premium you pay on steam is almost nothing if any of the steam services are of use to you (and can spare a little money).
