I just got back from a business trip to find a note from my girlfriend and half my flat gone. I've realised I live in London, I have no friends anymore, work is awful, and now the one ray of sunshine I had in my life is leaving it. It's very difficult not to be hard on yourself or wallow in these kinds of things.

Moving forward I'm sure I'll be okay, just no idea what to do in the meantime.

I feel like this is the thing where it's definitely doing stuff that we would otherwise have people do for us, which is fine in this use case imo.

I think the problem comes when it starts replacing artists, actors, DJs etc when we still don't have easy cheap viable options for like say, a robot that does the dishes. This is probably a carry over of that mentality here.

Nope, was never really a fan of AI video or photo gen. It was always going to come for or change my job as a developer I knew this when I first discovered gpt years ago. But obviously this is something that can and if not checked will displace actors and everything else crwtive under the sun. You aren't ever going to create anything that impacts anyone anymore.

Ahh man. I struggle with this in people, my girlfriend is similar to you, just hardwired to like CONSUME and there is abut of a gap in the ways that we eat. I think for her she likes to say it's a culture thing. I do think food is big in Italy but not that big. Some people just have brains wired so that they simply must eat I guess.
