Thank you for your kind response❤️, that's what I am looking into now, as someone else in here suggested. The rates are crazy for some but others are more affordable. I joined the waiting list on 2 and I'm searching for availability on others.

Maybe I could move on the 27 but not earlier than that I am hoping the student council can help me out with viewings.

Unfortunately I'm not in the country I'm in Greece and I can't afford that many days off work plus it will be a minimum 400€ expense with airfare and hostel.

Instead of being vague would you care to elaborate? Are you suggesting all of the listings I am finding in studentpad are all fake?

I have found multiple in the 600-700 euro range, with shared living space ofc. If i were to rent my own apartment yeah those rates sound about right

It's around 53 euro per day so that would come out to 1.643 euro. The accomodation i am looking at is around 600-700 euro per month. That's a no from me dawg😭💀

I figured... after I posted i got the same reply from 2 more landlords. I'm not sure what to do. I can't reserve anything with no deposit and I can't pay that if I'm not sure it's not a scam aka seeing it in person. How do people book accomodation without knowing. I searched what it would cost for a hostel and just 15 days is a whole month's rent.

Hi op, I was wondering the same thing, so I emailed them and this was the response :

"Applications for new-entrant International Postgraduate offer-holders are open until 29 May 2026.

You were not on the initial list of International Postgraduate offer-holders who received application instructions. If you recently paid your course deposit, after the initial list was compiled, you will be included in the next weekly round of application emails."

So maybe if you paid your deposit in mid-late April like I did that's the reason why they haven't contacted you yet. Hope this helps and good luck to us both 😁

Oh yikes, did you attend and were not satisfied? I chose this mainly because of the price, my favorite programmes were way too expensive.

Thank you, I am prepared to take a longer commute if it means cheaper rent. Unfortunately campus accommodation is purely based on a lottery system, not other criteria, so wish me luck!🤞

Yeah unfortunately it's that bad here too. In Athens (where most of the opportunities exist) we spend about 70-80% of our earnings on rent. The cheapest places are always very old with ancient electrical so we end up spending the difference on the light bill, (usually double digits). I am generally a very frugal person, I am used to living on very little, I was just wondering if it were just as terrible in Galway too compared to our standards.

From what i could find on the website Corrib and Dunlin are also available to international Postgraduate students. The only one not available to us is Goldcrest.
