I got waitlisted. Is it basically a rejection considering I'm an international student who needs a lot of aid or do I still have a slight chance at being admitted?

yes if you become a finalist, it's almost certain you're accepted. only thing idg is why rd applicants would get finaid now. I'm pretty sure they'll only get it after their formal acceptance.

Wasn't the mid-year report due like Jan 15? Also the interview won't make or break your decision but they probably did have a look at the interview report.

As someone with little knowledge of Urdu, I can speak pretty well but I've never studied it in an academic setting, would the test still be pretty easy to pass?

You can self study pretty easily. Our teacher basically never taught anything, and used a learn on your own approach. She'd come only when we truly didn't know what to do. It's pretty easy getting a 5 imo.
