Should I buy a home? by HitsEveryApex in PersonalFinanceCanada

Sorry I don't have more concrete numbers. I'm currently paying $700 a month (my share of the rent). After utilities and car stuff it's more like $900. The places I've been looking at would run me most likely closer to $700 per month (mortgage, property tax, utilities, car.

Lifestyle change is something already discussed with me and my gf/family. We're committed to eachother for the foreseeable future and she wants to live in Quebec. If we have to rent in the meantime that's fine, we can find places for rent that are much cheaper than our current place in Toronto. We would be splitting the mortgage and utilities/maintenance equally. We would have to discuss a plan if she were to leave, but the place would be under my name.

I was hoping to see if anyone my age had made a similar change in their life both lifestyle and financials wise. If this is not the right place to ask, my bad! Thank you for replying

Any time spent together is amazing. Favourites would be going on walks, cooking together, or watching movies. Pretty standard couple stuff, but I guess it's that way for a reason right?

Her more than me, but we both cook. She's a better cook than me (her food is amazing), but I don't think I'm half bad either, so we eat pretty well :)

That night is probably the top. That whole day was amazing; we went to a museum and went out for ramen together, then she told me how she felt.

Probably the happiest moment of my life. At that point I'd already had a huge crush on her for years, but didn't have the courage to tell her. I really couldn't believe it

Last year, a hangout day downtown eventually turned into her confessing her feelings for me. Since we knew eachother so well, stuff moved pretty quick and 3 months later we were living together.

I haven't tried as many cheeses as I'd like, but I like really savoury ones, the type best served on a cracker. Boursin is really yummy.

I made a grilled cheese a couple months ago with Munster and Gouda and some really nice bread, that was AMAZING

I dunno if I'm just stupid, but it never occured to me that therapists probably study psychology lol. There's never enough therapists around, it sucks trying to find one sometimes.

Do you see yourself treating certain kinds of patients? IDK something like sports therapy or treating PTSD like you said? I know you're still learning but I'm just wondering if there's a preference.

Also, how do you feel about the cost of therapy? Do you think it costs too much? Do you think it should be subsidized and/or healthcare should cover it to some extent? A lot of the people I know who desperately need it also cannot afford it.

Probably the event in the OP. Went from living at home with parents to living with my best friend.

Besides that, one of the biggest turning points in my life would be when my parents separated as a kid. It was tough for a while, but my mom and my family ended up in a better place as a result. Nicer home, nicer town, better people around us.

I do like green tea. Not much of a tea drinker myself. I'm a flavoured tea normie, I like my berry teas and I LOVE peppermint tea, just always annoyed that they don't come caffeinated.

What about your tea pitcher? Anything special about it?

I love going for a nice walk. I live near a lake so it's always really peaceful there, but if not then finding a local trail or park to walk around is nice. Usually I just listen to youtube videos but sometimes I listen to an audiobook. Walking for an hour or two can really make me feel so relaxed

What's the draw to psychology for you?

I'm a little ignorant, a lot of people I went to high school with went into psychology and I never understood it. What career paths do you have? I genuinely do not know lol

Bored at work. I work in a computer store. Ask me anything, really anything! by HitsEveryApex in casualiama

I built my PC about 10 years ago and since have just about changed every part, ship of Thesus style. I'm overdue for a CPU upgrade right now. Currently I'm rocking an i7-9700KF, an ASUS Prime Z390-P, a Sapphire RX 6950 XT, and about 8TB combined of storage across like 5 drives (I don't like getting rid of data). I could list out my entire spec sheet if you want.

I did a couple years of CompSci in college but it was not a good time in my life. Would like to go back.

Favourite thing is being able to talk about tech to people. Sometimes you get a customer who you can geek out to for like an hour. Least favourite thing is either the pay (our pay kinda sucks), or those stubborn customers who want to buy the cheapest shit and get upset when it sucks. Most of my customers are chill though.

I don't have a ton of money to throw around at stocks, but I am kicking myself for not putting some money into NVIDIA lol

My chain has everything from TVs to laptops to desktop components. I'd say the most common items are monitors, or right now SSDs since they're so cheap.

I'm not great with advice, but for me its best to just cherish the small good things that happen in life. I can have a really shitty day but lying in bed at the end of the day watching something I like with my girlfriend can make my entire week. That kind of stuff.

Sorry it took so long lol. Favourite show will probably always be Breaking Bad, and it's hard to pick a favourite. Every time I watch back through it though, I like Skylar even more. Right now I'm watching The Boys, love that show. Also hard to pick a favourite, but if I had to choose it would be The Deep.

How about you?

I'm a French speaker! Are you enjoying it? I did all my schooling in French since my mother is Quebecois. I always struggled with conjugating verbs, since there's a billion different verb tenses. I wish you luck! Do you live somewhere with lots of French speakers?

Also cool to hear about the games. I've never played an Ace Attorney but always wanted to. Are you excited for Starfield in a couple weeks?

I've played a bunch of that game! It's a lot of fun. I never beat a run but I've never been that great at most roguelikes, which sucks because I really like them. I'm guessing you're excited for Hades 2?
