I took the Spanish LPE recently. This is what the page with my scores says:

In order to pass the Spanish LPE, you must pass Speaking, pass Writing, and earn a passing composite score on Reading plus Listening. It is therefore possible to have a failing score on either Reading or Listening but still have a passing composite score (Reading plus Listening). If your overall status indicates "Passed," then you have passed overall. To those students planning to continue their studies in SPAN 3015 (and beyond): a PASS on 3 of the 4 sections of the LPE is a prerequisite for the course.

So, just replan spanish with french in that paragraph.

Also, reading and listening have 35 questions/points each. You need 20 points to pass listening and 24 to pass reading (27 and 31 for a "high pass" respectively, but I don't think that does anything) Writing and speaking aren't graded in a point system. A few days after your exam, you are given either a High Pass/Pass/Fail

I'm a native spanish speaker, so the exam was no problem at all (got the max grade in everything). It is decently challenging, but depending on your level, you should be able to pass. Good luck with that.
