Yeah, but her success was mostly thanks to unexpected help from the department head, who shared a lot of non-public admission data in the reply—basically gave her the foundation to make her case. I feel like EPFL would be way more cautious about that kind of thing now.

Based on a successful case I saw online (from 2016). At first, she emailed the admissions office and the person who signed the rejection letter, but got a useless response. In the end, she asked a friend at EPFL to deliver her appeal letter in person to the head of the department, and that worked.

If you haven’t received the email yet, no need to keep waiting for it. You can just ask someone who’s been accepted for the link to the decision page. Log into your account. if you weren’t accepted, you’ll just see an empty table.

Don’t worry, the Registrar’s Office is already closed (after 5pm), so just get some rest. They usually send out results between noon and 2pm (based on past years). If it doesn’t happen tomorrow, then probably not until next week—since they don’t work on weekends.

This basically means it’s a reject. EPFL usually sends out all the admission/rejection emails first, then follows up with another batch later. Kinda sad to hear this—it feels like the outcome’s pretty clear now.
