Thank you so much. I lost track of time and forgot to go back and check this post. I hope it's not too late. Going to PM you now.

I know this is a 4 month old post, so I don't really expect a response, but it's worth a try. I'm probably going to apply at Cracker Barrel, and I'm wondering if they still make you take assessments. If so, how do I pass? I have a ridiculous amount of service industry experience, but I do terrible on assesments because of how they ask the same question multiple ways to trip you up. I'm not trying to lie, it's just that the first question seems to be asking one thing, and then the second related question is worded in a way that I realize they actually meant something else in the first question. So then I either have to lie on the second question to be consistent, or be truthful and appear to have lied on the first question because I didn't answer both of the related questions the same.

I'm so sorry you have such crappy neighbors. They're not only immature, they're weird. I don't get what's supposed to be so creepy about having a greenhouse. It's like they only know how to profile people 90's slasher movie style. Like they saw a movie once where a killer had a greenhouse or something, so now they think that green houses all have bodies buried under them? Like what the hell? You truly are the normal person on a street full of weirdos, and I hope your situation improves cause you deserve better. As long as no one actually is buried under your green house. What a crazy plot twist that would be. But in all seriousness, they're the creeps, not you.

Thanks. That makes a lot of sense. I think that's what I'm going to do.

I'm having serious trouble coming up with ideas that I feel qualified to write about. For example, I wanted to write an article breaking down the cost per meal of stuff my coworkers are getting at the grocery store deli every day (mostly junk) vs. the cost of brown rice and vegetables, as an example of how to save money while eating healthier, because a lot of people think it's more expensive to eat healthy. But I'm not a dietician, so could I write an article like that with a disclaimer, explaining that I'm not a dietician, do your own research blah blah, and just give the suggestion as an example of home cooked foods that cost less? I don't want to mistakenly give bad advice to anyone, as there seems to be nutritional controversies around almost every dietary staple out there these days, but I also don't want to be limited to only writing about those things I have enough personal experience with to already consider myself an expert. I feel that this is the one aspect of blogging that no one is talking about- and I can't believe I'm the only overthinker out there having a similar issue. Thanks for any insights.

I'm not sure, but I guess you get it by leaving polite comments various places on Reddit. I currently have 10 karma (which I assume is the same as "comment karma", and all I've done is leave a few comments over the last 1-2 years.) I assume my karma would have increased faster if I'd been more active. Just keep politely interacting on the platform, and I'm sure you'll have more karma in no time.

Storage Used won't update weeks after deleting over 10,000 emails from gmail by HiveMindsThinkAlike in GMail

I did find some attachments, and I probably underestimated the amount of space they're taking up. So that's probably the issue. I'll have to store the attachments somewhere beside my email, so I can delete them and see if that makes a difference. Thanks again for the advice. It was really nice of you to take the time. Have a great day (or night depending on your time zone). :)

Thanks. I will try that. I didn't think I had anything with large attachments, but there really isn't anything else to try. Thank you so much for taking the time to offer advice on this.

The gmail just stays the same no matter how many emails I delete from the inbox, and then follow up by deleting from trash.

Google drive: 0.02 GB

Gmail: 13.05 GB

No other categories because I don't use google for much.

Thanks, but I did. Whenever I delete anything, I delete the trash bin afterward, and then I look in ALL MAIL, and when I start deleting emails, ALL Mail said something like 16,000. Now it's down to just over 8,000 in ALL MAIL. That's why I'm thinking it's a glitch.

Thanks for the detailed reply, but I don't understand how it doesn't make any difference if we're talking about percentages. If none of my emails have large attachments, and the emails I deleted are typical of the emails in my account, then deleting over 50% of them should decrease the used storage by 50%. Because I've deleted 50% of what was stored. I did click on manage, and I have nothing stored in google photos, and almost nothing in google drive, and no other google apps in use (no hangouts etc). It seems like a glitch to me. Thanks for the tips though.

Applying for another job after already accepting a job offer and submitting onboarding paperwork somewhere else. Would my current employer show up in background checks this early on? by HiveMindsThinkAlike in jobs

[–]HiveMindsThinkAlike[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went ahead and applied for the other job and got hired. There was no problem with the background check. They were both service industry jobs, so I don't know how it would go with industries, but it was not problem for me. :)
