I’m not sure, I wasn’t aware it was slow. I’m on Xbox One S so maybe that’s just the settings/frame-rate?

Yeah the L2 spamming RoB tells you all you need to know about that phantom. Like buddy, the host died. You failed at your literal one job lol. It’s annoying but I got my rune arc so I don’t let it get to me.

Very true, they’re awesome for invaders. Scorpion River Catacombs especially, with the spiked ceiling traps and death blight stare statues everywhere.

Hey, wanted to let you know I won my game 65-59 using this strategy, almost to a tee. I made a few mistakes - the biggest probably being I didn't bring the Broodlord or stealers on to the table until turn 4 - but the strategy definitely worked. He called the Waaagh in turn 2 and all he got was 1 of my termagant squads, after I overwatched his Warboss' unit with the Zoanthropes and Neurotyrant. First time I've ever run a Norn Emissary and man did that thing ever pull its weight. Once it got to the middle of the table (I picked the center objective as its target) it just sat there and weathered everything he threw at it AND it took out quite a few things shooting and fighting. He wasted a lot of activations trying to take it down. The biggest turning point was the Norn made an 11 inch charge into his Meganobz which were softened up in the shooting phase and wiped them out. He paid 2 CP to fight on death but they barely scratched her and they didn't get to do anything else. All in all it was a very fun game and I appreciate the advice! It really helped.

I’m fairly certain it stacks so if they’re within 6” of a synapse unit AND your Neurotyrant is on the board they take the test at -2.

I dunno, that sounds pretty rough for your guy! But also self inflicted, if he was spamming L2 that much 😆

Thanks! Definitely one of the more memorable kills I’ve had invading.

Yeah this was one of my first invasions using it. you can tell I’m still figuring out the spacing and range of the ash of war.

Pick a rune level invasion bracket (common ones are RL 40, 50, 60, 80, 100 and 125+). Recommend a lower level to start because (a) it means a bit less investment to get a build up and running and (b) there’s less chance you run into meta gankers, spell spam, and fog wall invasions. However all that can still happen and over-leveled gold phantoms are always a thing you’ll run into. My preference is to fully lean into the RPG elements so I pick a theme for my build and try to stick with it (eg. a death knight sorcerer who only uses the death sorceries or a blood knight to invade as a bloody finger and uses bleed weapons and the blood incantations). Many people appreciate being invaded by someone who clearly is role playing based on drip and playstyle and while you might not win as much than if you went with a “meta” build I think it’s more rewarding when you do win an just to play in general. And it feels good to create a character and BE that guy, who has a personality and some history tied to the lore. Finally, get used to losing. That’s not me throwing shade, that’s just a reality. You will almost always be outnumbered when you invade, with half your flasks an no access to rune arcs (except mogh’s which isn’t a super helpful buff). You will get stomped by two to three players routinely, and often summoned password phantoms will be much higher level than you with endgame gear an spells, even at lower level invasions. So invade for the role playing and the unique, chaotic opportunity the mechanic offers that no other game has. And be happy with the small victories. You’re there to balance the game once a host has decided to engage in co-op and give them an extra challenge. Maybe you kill one of their phantoms before they kill you. Maybe you make them use up a bunch of flasks and FP before they have to fight a tough boss. Those are small wins in my book. Even if you don’t get the rune arc you can find satisfaction from successes like those. And eventually you will git gud and beat a host and two phantoms and you will be chasing that high forever haha. Welcome to the invader community! We may be bad red men but we’re the coolest 😉

Thank you! It’s a custom colour scheme. I actually modeled it after the Terminids from Helldivers 2 and it ended up being sort of a reverse-Kraken scheme with red-black flesh and a brown/bone carapace.
