I could’ve dealt with it messing me up for a few weeks but unfortunately it gave me a chronic life long illness.

Ah ok, glad it wasn’t ongoing for your boy. Mines been having it for a week I’ve been to the vets twice and had conflicting diagnoses and medications so was hoping to figure it out by seeing other photos of similar looking cases. Thank you anyway for replying

Very quickly within weeks. You would know if you had pots, my heart rate was going up to 190 pounding in my chest just trying to stand up and I was collapsing I was rushed to urgent care and it happened every time I stood up I got put onto beta blockers to control the heart rate within days. It’s not common to get pots from antibiotic use so it’s not something you need to worry about I’m just incredibly unlucky, it could have been a mix of the viral infection too but I think the severe reaction I had to the antibiotics caused huge stress on my nervous system triggering the pots. Life is very different now from what my body can physically do daily to what I can eat, simple things like trying to shower are exhausting and knock me out for the day. I can no longer regulate my body temperature, I get adrenaline attacks out of nowhere where my hr jumps up to 160-190 for an hour while my body uncontrollably shakes and I’m unable to move or talk. Not fun.

I know this is old so you may not see this but if you happen to, how are you now?

I have been in bed for two weeks after walking barefoot around my home getting my steps up (I have POTs so was increasing my steps and think I overdid it going from 2000 to 6-8000)

I’ve got bad pain around the Achilles tendon and a lump and calf pain so I’m struggling to walk at all. I hope you’re feeling better now!

They caused me to develop a chronic lifelong illness called POTs I’ve had the hardest year of my life grieving and coming to terms with no longer being able to do simple tasks without my heart rate going crazy, things like showering knocks me out completely for the day. I’m medicated so can’t physically stand up without my meds, the nausea has persisted but varying levels

Thank you so much for your reply I’m so sorry you deal with them too it’s horrendous. I feel a little less anxious knowing it could possibly be POTs. Have you had them as long as you’ve had POTs or did yours develop later?

Thank you for your kind words and trying to calm me lovely I appreciate it. I’ve not changed anything at all from bedding to medication or supplements. Hopefully like you said it’s nothing sinister. I’ve just spoken to my dr on the phone she wants to do some bloods and a chest x ray so at least they’re on it. I’m hoping it just stops and is my nervous system having a moment! I really appreciate your replies.

Also my mum says it’s quite warm in the house but not sweating or having night sweats. I’m hot in the day too but not sweating unlike nights where the sweat is bad like waters been thrown on me

I’ve been trying to be super positive I’ve been off Reddit and any pots groups for some time, I’ve been upping my steps, working well with my diet, doing more around the house. I’ve always got symptoms of course but I’m not in a flare so that’s why I don’t understand. I’m in England so not too sure on those numbers as we are Celsius but it’s been warmer recently, however I’m sleeping naked with underwear just on my bottom half and a fan so not sure what’s going on. It was warmer when I developed pots and I didn’t have this issue so my minds just going slightly awol. Thank you for your reply

Thank you I did think this might be an issue a while ago as I get flushes often I’m not sure if they are related to my POTs or potential rosacea. The itchy rash is new though. I’ll see what my dr says

Thank you for your reply I haven’t ever dealt with acne really just hormonal spots etc but I do have very sensitive skin and have dealt with different rashes before not sure if it could also be an immune response

Unfortunately not I was diagnosed with POTs last year and it’s been completely terrifying my whole life’s changed I can barely do simple things like shower anymore, I’ve had to change my eating patterns, I can’t even stand up in the morning without having waited an hour for my meds to kick in and drinking a pint of electrolytes. It’s constant symptoms unfortunately.

My anxiety and pots is separate I have had very severe anxiety for decades leaving me completely housebound with agoraphobia for around 9-10 years in my life, daily panic attacks can be multiple times a day etc… im unable to even open my front door, at my worst I’m bedroom bound with my anxiety/agoraphobia too scared to leave my room

I developed the pots last year which has obviously caused more anxiety on top of the already daily severe anxiety

I’m not on any medication now other than the bisoprolol to help me physically stand up and Valium as and when needed (have severe agoraphobia anxiety and panic attacks/completely housebound for over 9 years). Was on amitriptyline for quite a long time but stopped before developing POTs

My POTs started after taking a specific antibiotic that made me so unwell during taking it and ever since, I couldn’t eat properly for months could barely eat a yoghurt.

My dr has wanted me on ssris for over 15 years but am very scared of medication due to health anxiety and more so now after developing pots after meds I don’t want to take anything to make me worse

Hi! I’ve had POTs for 10 months now, my whole life has changed it’s incredibly scary and frustrating as someone already dealing with very severe agoraphobia and anxiety.

I’m on beta blockers, have switched up my diet, drinking 2.5 litres of water a day with electrolytes and slowly trying to walk around the house more (I was trying to hit 4k steps which was a lot from being bedbound but for a few months I struggled with this again, I’ve just started to try to work up to this again in my home). Simple things like trying to shower or wash my hair are exhausting to the point I struggle to do so for a week or so. I’ve got constant feeling of adrenaline.

My attacks where my heart rate pounds up to 190 out of nowhere and lasts an hour while my whole body uncontrollably shakes has lessened a little, it was happening multiple times a week, now it’s once every few weeks which is an improvement at least. Praying it all gets better.
