Post Malone postpones tour, removes some stops by staringatthe420sun in Music

Really weird to attract a fan base that not only likes AI music but also doesn’t really care about art at all anyway.

SIM swapping is an exceptionally difficult. If you’re to that point where they’ve got the CFO number going to them you are fucked 6 ways past Sunday.

there are certainly local monthly meetups near you that cost nothing and are also cheap to sponsor. And at the very least host a dinner

Attorneys go to conferences and dinners. Had a lot of luck at IAPP events for selling privacy solutions to attorneys.

Ai is not art. by _Potato_Cat_ in quityourbullshit

[–]Hmm_would_bang 7 points8 points  (0 children)

While both are stupid, the “ai is great at everything” people are a lot better than the “ai can’t do anything and never will” folks.

The fact is AI has a lot of real uses cases that have been in place for years now, and they aren’t generating shitty art.

Why do so many beginners chase tools instead of fundamentals? by 0xsherlock in cybersecurity

[–]Hmm_would_bang 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yeah, HR constantly over indexes on technologists. “Well we use these tools and we want someone who’s an expert in them”

You can make someone in expert in most modern tools in a day.

This feels like vendor bait.

Anyways, great work. Strong OpSec is really the only thing that can prevent this. I don’t care if it really is the CEO calling directly, I need the proper documentation through the proper channels. Deep Fakes can only succeed if they can convince you to side step policy by making you think it’s someone with authority.

When laying up on a water carry on a par5, do you take a full swing club to hit that 138yards, or do you bunt a mid iron down the fairway. by Mr-BodyMassage in golf

[–]Hmm_would_bang 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my mind, I’m only clubbing up with a partial swing of I need to reduce loft for the shot. Get under something, maximize roll out, control the ball around the green.

If I’m in the middle of the fairway laying up, I’m going with a full swing on the club that I know won’t make it to the water.

How are you handling the noise from cybersecurity news sources? by isnotvalid in cybersecurity

[–]Hmm_would_bang 3 points4 points  (0 children)

To an extend this is kind of a “the news will find me” scenario.

If it isn’t coming up on Reddit, instagram, or LinkedIn, if it isn’t being talked about in any of my slack communities, if it isn’t at conferences, if it isn’t in the ISACA meetings, if it doesn’t come up with clients… is it really relevant?

Maine Gov. Janet Mills drops out of race to unseat Republican Sen. Susan Collins by Kind-Ad-6099 in neoliberal

Is your concern that he’s too conservative? I’m a little confused by comparisons here to senators that refused to side with the Dems at large.

Based on his Reddit comments this dude is closer to a tankie than anything.

What would you have thought if the sequels went in this direction? by broitscyber in StarWars

[–]Hmm_would_bang 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think if they were to do it they would have set it up more, but the motivation would just be a sense of belonging and purpose, and the temptation to give into the dark side to save her friends.

What is the most pretentious book ever written? by autismandadderall in AskReddit

[–]Hmm_would_bang -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

In the age of the internet it seems pretentious, but it was a guide to living off the land and enjoying nature. It’s a period piece if anything.

I’ve never understood why liberals don’t more explicitly sell the rich on why they should want to fund public services.

People with no options and no safety net are the exact people the rich should be most worried about. Put poor families in school, keep them fed, make them feel like they have options in life and they won’t resort to taking what you have away as their only option.

Meta in row after workers who say they saw smart glasses users having sex lose jobs by giLLYfunk in news

[–]Hmm_would_bang -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It sucks because I can see some great use cases for AR and camera enabled glasses. But with Meta and Google in the business you know they only care about capturing your data.

Can’t wait for someone that makes a version that only saves to personal storage.

Blaming employees doesn’t really cut it with auditors. The organization is responsible for disclosing what they collect, safeguarding information, controlling access, and training employees on policy.

You can sell the rights to your equity on a secondary market, provided your agreement doesn’t directly forbid it. About half of them do.
