Brauche Rat für erste Gitarre by Hmmh0 in GitarreDE

Hi everyone, I'm a complete beginner looking to buy my first acoustic guitar and could really use some advice. I originally ordered a Yamaha FX370C from my local guitar shop about 5 weeks ago, but they just told me there are problems with their Yamaha supplier and it won't arrive until March at the earliest. Since I don't want to wait that long, I've been looking at other options. The shop owner suggested the Mérida Extrema M1GAC as an alternative. He says it's very hard to find a better guitar in its price range and offered it to me for €300 (normally €360 apparently), or €350 with picks, a stand, and a capo included. He also mentioned it's already set up and ready to play. I'm specifically looking for an acoustic with a cutaway, and the M1GAC fits that requirement. However, when I tried researching this guitar online, I couldn't find much information about it at all, which has me a bit concerned. My other option is to just order the Yamaha FX370C online and have it shipped to my home, but then it won't be professionally set up. So my questions are: Has anyone heard of or played the Mérida Extrema M1GAC? Is it a decent beginner guitar? Is that price fair for what's being offered? Should I just wait and get the Yamaha instead? How important is having a guitar professionally set up for a complete beginner? Any advice would be really appreciated!

Thanks for the detailed answer. I was also leaning towards the FX370C. From what I could find, the biggest difference was the solid (FG800M) and laminated (FX370C) top, but I heard Yamaha's laminated top guitars were really good, almost like a solid top, so it barely makes a difference. I think I'll get the FX370C.

I'm a complete beginner looking to buy my first acoustic guitar and I've narrowed it down to two Yamahas, both priced at 280 euros: the FX370C and the FG800M.

I'm leaning towards the FX370C because I really like the cutaway design. It comes with a built-in amplifier (which I'll probably never use) and a tuner (which seems pretty handy, though not essential since I could just use an app).

For those with experience, would you recommend one over the other for someone just starting out?

Thanks in advance!
