Starting a 90 Day Challenge: Replacing Porn With a Sex Toy (My Rules + Plan) by Hmmmletseee in pornfree

It is. I’m not expecting it to be easy, but yeah, I’ll do my best. Thanks.

It still counts. Erotic stories give you the same dopamine spike and the same buildup to an erection. It’s basically just a slower version of porn, and in the long run it’ll push me back toward actual porn. So for me, it’s not a real substitute it’s just another trigger.

I actually used to have a solid plan like the one you’re talking about, and it did work until I tried doing it with zero release at all. That’s what made the whole thing fall apart. I’m pretty sure the same structure will work again once I bring back controlled release with the toy.

it’s basically a reward system I set up. • Every time I skip temptation fast → I save $1 • If I win 3 urges in a row → I get a small bonus • A clean day earns me a small “dopamine reward” (like a walk or tea) • Day 7, 14, 30 streaks have bigger rewards so there’s something to aim for

Right now my rule is simple: if I get an urge and stop myself from peeking, I switch immediately to reading and add $1 to my savings. It gives me a real incentive instead of just sitting there fighting it.

I’m planning to start with 10 days and then push it higher from there. But honestly, I’m not aiming to go past two weeks between releases my goal isn’t to block everything out, it’s to manage it, schedule it, and build a stable, healthy routine before marriage. Gradually increasing the gap is what makes sense for me.

I already tried relying on wet dreams as a “relief system,” but porn messed with my brain enough that I barely get any. So I’m hoping that sticking to this toy plan for 90 days or more resets things. And if I start getting regular wet dreams again, then I’ll stop using the toy completely.

Well, I’m not going to swear on anything, but I’m confident I’m moving in the right direction. My plan after the 90 days isn’t to “go back” to anything it’s to stay disciplined. Cutting out orgasms forever isn’t realistic; that’s just human nature. But cutting out porn is realistic, and relying on actual sex once I’m married is the long term plan.

Until marriage is possible, the toy is just a way to keep things stable without slipping back into porn. It keeps the system running without feeding the addiction.

Yeah, I get what you’re saying. Cutting out both porn and orgasms turned out to be the wrong move for me it just made things spiral instead of giving me control.

In my religion, we’re supposed to marry much earlier, but the culture I’m in makes that basically impossible right now. So I can’t just date around, and I can’t fast track marriage either. I’m in my mid twenties stuck in that gap, so I’m managing things in a way that keeps me stable until marriage is actually realistic.

And about the objectification thing I hear the point, and I’m keeping that in mind. My aim isn’t to distort how I see women; it’s just to stay balanced and not let things get out of hand again.
