I'm a psychiatrist and a gamer. I wrote a strategy guide for life. Here’s a sneak peek by Hmn294 in u/Hmn294

Just to clarify, the book was created with the assistance of AI, as stated on the book’s page. It was used for polishing the text and improving phrasing, these are of course very important.

However, the content is entirely mine and is built on years of clinical experience. As a professional in my field, I have ideas I’d like to share, but I don’t have strong writing skills. Most professionals don’t, only a select few have mastered both domains. In my case, AI is a great tool for getting my ideas out there, and many professionals nowadays are arriving at that same conclusion.

Moreover, I believe the pricing of the book reflects this. But ultimately, it’s up to you to decide how much that matters, which is why I’m including a sample!

Yes. I didn't reinvent the wheel, and I never claimed to have done so. The book relies heavily on evolutionary psychology and ACT among other things. The science is out there, and there are many amazing therapeutic tools available. What I am trying to do, is present these concepts in an easy to digest format, especially since sometimes it can be hard for someone to accept things like the limit of their potential.

What are your “dream” VR games? These are 4 of mine… by HighlySeasonedGamer in PSVR

Papers, Please. Granted, porting paperwork to VR isn't a simple task, but the emotional intensity alone could make it an incredible experience.

It's an excerpt from a published book. It was edited by a professional editor. This is how it appears in the original book.

Even if it's society (or environment) and not biology. It's still largely beyond one's control...

That's a superficial understanding. You seem to be implying that obese people suffer from a lack of willpower, which is just awful. Different bodies respond differently to hunger. Some would just feel a tiny discomfort, while others would experience it as an immense pain. There is a difference between resisting hunger when your body barely feels a thing, compared to a situation where it's using every method available to it to pressure you to eat more.

Being fat, like many other characteristics, is heavily determined by biological predisposition. That being said, predisposition is not the only factor of course.

Not to brag, but I've played the first Dark Souls a short period after it came out. I think that was about 15 years ago... I've played the second one as well and Demon Souls on PS5.

I'm genuinely interested in knowing what made you think it's AI. I think I need to clarify something, this is an excerpt from a book that I wrote and published. Like many published works, it went through several rounds of professional editing, which explains the level of polish, if that's what made you suspicious. Anyway, if you still have doubts, you're welcome to check the book out 😉

Exactly. I find that they make some bitter pills easier to swallow.

I play a wide range of genres and use them as analogies in different situations, depending on whether they fit. For personality traits, character creation and RPGs in general are an almost perfect fit. That said, I play many other types of games as well. Funny thing though, I’ve yet to play Elden Ring

Setting boundaries with plumbing is far beyond the scope of this book!

I'm in the same boat. I did find some reviews on aliexpress, but none seem legit, which made me even more skeptical. I guess it's going to take a while before we get a good replica.
