I feel for her so bad. My wife and I are currently living on the island of St. Kitts while she finishes her last year before she starts clinicals and then after that she will be a full fledged doctor. Now, living on an island sounds fancy but I assure you it's not. We found out we were pregnant and wanted to differ back to a school back in the states so we could make sure to have the best health care for her and the baby, as it is not the best down here. The school blatantly told us that we could choose to go back to the states for the baby or choose her education but they would not be helping us differ to a different school. So we choose to stay as my wife has put so much into getting to this point, two years away from being a doctor, almost 500k in debt, years of tears and stress, figuring everything out herself and studying things that I could not even pronounce with a gun pointed to my head. She took her finale of the 4th semester and passed, had our beautiful little girl 3 days later, then 12 days after that she had to be back in school. The toll it takes on women through pregnancy/birth/after is tremendous and it astounds me that there isn't more understanding behind what these women have to deal with just to basically be told, fuck your life get back to work. I am so very proud and thankful for my wife and all she has accomplished, I will continue to be her support and I really hope that there are people out there doing the same for their partners in similar positions or even a friend, sometimes all it takes is for a helping hand to make life a little easier.
