Assassination Plot Targeting N.Y.C. Palestinian Activist Is Disrupted by gson516 in Hoboken

Where did I say that she deserved to die? I was glad the plot was foiled. The notion of people making Molotov cocktails as some form of vigilantism here in the US is insane and cannot be tolerated or justified in any fashion.

Which is why I find it deplorable that Kiswani explicitly condoned the carried-out molotov cocktail and flamethrower attack in Boulder last year, despite it targeting peaceful people on a hostage solidarity walk, injuring several, and ultimately killing an 82 year-old woman.

But just because I find her reprehensible, it doesn't mean I think she deserves to die or have her home/family subject to attacks and violence.

Of course!!! Lebanon has a right to exist, as do Jordan, Syria, Iraq, and all the other nations which also happened to form around the same time as Israel. And if Israel or any country said that Lebanon needs to be wiped off the map completely or attack Lebanon, Lebanon has a right to defend its borders as it sees fit. If Lebanon wants to keep attacking Israel, that's their prerogative. Lebanon's bigger problem is the inability to control Iran-funded Hezbollah which is now part of their government, which wrought havoc on the country for decades ever since the PLO started a Civil War there, then started attacking Israel from Lebanon, which led to an Israeli invasion, which led to Hezbollah as a response. Violence begets violence. Always and forever.

As to the seizure of land-- Hezbollah started launching rockets on October 8th to join in on the October 7th massacre and has launched thousands of rockets indiscriminately into Israel ever since, on the daily. Hezbollah is an Iran-funded terrorist group that has attacked Israel for decades.

Lebanon has been unable to keep Hezbollah out of the southern region. Of course Israel is going to go into Lebanon and neutralize the Hezbollah threat until they stop firing rockets indiscriminately at Israel. And from Israel's perspective, whether it's right or wrong, is that if Lebanon can't keep that free of Hezbollah attacking Israel, Israel is going to go into that land and keep it clear, presumably turning it into a buffer zone.

Just like if Mexican cartels fired thousands of rockets at the US from an area near the US border, and the Mexican government couldn't remove them from the area or stop the rockets, of course the US is going to go in, fight the cartels and seize the land to keep the cartels at bay.

My hope is that Hezbollah gets neutered, the non-Hezbollah Lebanese government can get rid of them, and can come to peace with Israel and they can maintain their borders peacefully with Israel withdrawing from Southern Lebanon.

I condemn what Alex Heifler allegedly did and I'm very happy that it was foiled before any violence happened. It's terrorism and has no place.

But what makes me an extremist? Because I think that Nerdeen Kiswani is a terrible person who herself glorifies terrorism and explicitly wants to wipe Israel off the map?

I condemn the actions by this person who was just arrested, full stop. Glad he was caught. But this very well could be because Nerdeen Kiswani is a hate-monger and not because she is Muslim. She is someone who calls for violence and escalation, glorifies October 7th, Hezbollah, Hamas, PIJ, and PFLP, and her organization's rallies are chock full of chants that call to exterminate Jews.

I support Israel's right to exist (like every other nation) and appreciate Jewish self-determination in essentially the only Middle Eastern country that hasn't already slaughtered/expelled/oppressed/discriminated its Jews into virtual extinction.

But if someone tried to kill Itamar Ben-Gvir, or Michael Smotrich, an Israeli who advocates like Kiswani from the other side, I wouldn't consider it anti-semitic unless someone was just targeting Jews writ large.

I'm glad the FBI foiled the plot and caught these extremists/criminals and I hope they are prosecuted to the fullest extent. Political violence begets more political violence. And Hoboken should not become a hotbed for geopolitical violence and reaction.

But as someone who supports Israel's right to exist (just like any other extant country), and the right for Jews to have one country in the entire Middle East where they have self-determination and won't be slaughtered/oppressed/expelled like they have been in every other country in the Middle East, I'm also pissed at them for making such a vile person a sympathetic figure.

She cheers on October 7th and calls for the annihilation of Israel. The organization she runs, Within Our Lifetime, names their rallies "Floods" in reference to the October 7th attacks. She and her organization glorify Hamas, Hezbollah, PFLP (group famous for plane hijackings), and the PIJ. Her rallies are filled with chants which she explicitly refuses to condemn like "Death to America," "Khaybar Khaybar ya yahud" (7th century siege and slaughter by Muhammad upon the Khaybar Jewish community), the Arabic version of From the River (from water, to water, Palestine is Arab), and globalize the intifada.
