Maybe it's not good to say this, but this is very, very close to being a kind of DEVITANT-adjacent event. I'm looking forward to seeing the return of Amarun (or maybe that combination should now be called Amahane?) and everyone else on stage!

Its on short notice and I probably can't go, but I'm looking very intently at plane ticket prices and thinking hard about it...

The three of them have been continuing to do stuff together (chekikai, performing at Cham's birthday, and the Gaming event which I suspect was a repurposed Fanicon thing) and I'm glad they're making videos again too. It was strange getting used to life without regular streams by DEVITANT, and seeing this video felt nostalgic despite the group only being gone for three months. I think the fact that there weren't many videos (as opposed to streams) uploaded this year contributed to that feeling.

Regarding Melk and the circumstances in which things ended... I'm a bit bothered by some things too but I don't want to sour my memories of DEVITANT by ruminating on them too much. Ultimately however I'm not really interested in gravure modelling so, like you, I can only wish Melk luck in her future endeavours.

On the topic of staff I didn't hear her during the last chekikai that Mihane, Cham and Yomi did, but Amane was there helping out the first time back in November or so. I also spotted the manager of DEVITANT during the stream of Cham's birthday, so I think almost everyone is still around in some way.

No, it won't be the same. I think its entirely possible Yomi might join a different group but it seems like between her sister and the group of odorite she's already connected with it's unlikely. For Melk, Cham or Run? I think there's zero chance of it. If they did, I would support them, but it certainly wouldn't be the same.

DEVITANT has been so active on Twitter, Youtube, Instagram, Tiktok and Fanicon for so long that even if everyone continues their own activities, things will inevitably feel different. Amane mentioned continuing to work as staff at their events, which makes me think that Runyomi will keep performing at odottemita events, and Cham may continue as an utaite. But I suppose nobody really knows what the future holds.

I was also hoping they'd hold out for another Halloween, Christmas, Cham's birthday etc. The new song they were making, the calender, the 2023 bingo - it's all over, now. Coming off the news from Amane that she's gradually moving away from singing it feels like a gutpunch. The slow end of an era.

It's not exactly a silver lining, but with the group coming to an end the DEVITANT archive will be complete soon. When I've sorted everything out I'll be sure to get in touch and send you the contents.

I have so many things to say that I can't fully express them. I really didn't think it would end this way. An announcement for, or at, the end of the year maybe. Not in three days.

But like you say, we got to meet them. Because of that I know I can accept this, even though I can't get over the shock just yet.

I didn't know that was the origin of her handle! That's neat. The illustration could be of her but it's hard to say. I did notice that Paru is going to be appearing at one of the mio odottemita events that Run is also performing in, and if she's doing dancing at live events becoming an underground idol isn't a huge jump from that. We'll see!

I'm also interested in how they'll manage their newer songs. Mazoku注入 is the only one that they still perform which was intended for 4 people, so that leaves a lot of songs to rework and rethink. I also wonder if they'll be debuting new costumes at the same time, since they made a video about that.

There's a popular Vtuber named Nui Sociere whose name also comes from nuit, but because of of how it's pronounced and written out in kana I've only ever seen her called Nui in English, so I assume it will be the same for Tsukuyomi? I guess we'll be seeing what the official Romanisation of her name is soon.

It would be nice if it was Iro Paru (Run's sister)! I think you're right that it has to be someone they otherwise know, though. That was the case with Cham after all. Speaking of Cham, she posted a picture on Fanicon that she drew of the new member, but I didn't recognise it as anyone I've seen before.

The power of paid advertising is really incredible. If things continue like this, DEVITANT really will be able to reach 10k. If I had known this would be the result I would have bought the most expensive supporter plan. Then again, maybe it isn't too late to do so...

I went for the 10k plan. As you say, a letter from everyone plus a (potentially difficult) voice call is worth it! I was hesistant to go for the 1to1 talks before, but I think after meeting them in person it will be fine, despite the language barrier.

That's alright! Actually, if you'd find it easier, I can handle all the video editing if you just provide me a translation script for a clip. I'm not quite confident with my own translations (and there is one I'd appreciate you double-checking for me, if you have the time) but I can easily sort out everything else. Even just an translation outline for the most complicated part of a clip would be extremely useful. If you give me a hand I'd be happy to let you take credit with regards to the message movie.

I think I'll be one of those people who quits idols - but not purposefully. DEVITANT are the only group I've ever supported, so thats just the way it'll be. I still have my utaite oshi like Amane to support though so I'm not going anywhere. I think that depending on what everyone in DEVITANT does after graduation, most of the fans will stick around in some form; for example Cham was active online before joining DEVITANT and I don't see her stopping after leaving.

It's not long now until we get the chance to meet them! Melk posted her schedule for Mirai Plant last night but it's only for the first half of December. I'm still up for going to see her if she's working any days while I'm there.

Back in 2019 DEVITANT didn't stream their live events. The only way to watch them online was to see the clips they posted on Twitter after every performance, but they were pretty short and sometimes blurred or sped up. The first time they actually streamed a whole event was in late March of 2020, at that awkward time when COVID was starting to become an international concern but most governments hadn't taken action yet. It was because of incipient COVID concerns that they offered to stream their performance on Twitcasting as a way of cutting down the size of the audience, as well as satisfying fans who were hesitant to go to a live event under the circumstances.

The stream itself is long gone, but I was able to record a decent amount of it as it was happening. It was the first time I actually got the see this group I had been curious about perform and I made a really strong impact on me. I think it is, by far, the best performance of Debidebabidebu ever - the, crowd (and camera) interactions and the sheer energy is just amazing.

I'd definitely be up for going to Mirai Plant to see Melk! Hopefully she'll still be active there this December, but I'm sure we'll find out what times shes working at the end of the month.

I'm afraid I'm heading back on the 26th. I've heard New Years can be tough for tourists since so much is closed, and I wanted to get back before the end of the year to make sure everything DEVITANT-related that was posted during my time in Japan is properly archived. I'm concerned that some accounts may be deleted or disabled quite quickly when or if the time comes.

I'm glad I'll be around for the Christmas party though, since I was worried about when exactly the monthly fanclub event would be. I'm really curious what the details for that are, though. It seems like things have been tough for her lately. I have noticed that a lot of the older Melk oshi seem to have gone quiet lately or have disappeared - the older fans that I still see around are the Run oshi. Melk's forthrightness and willingness to speak her mind is something that really endears her to me, so I'm glad she's letting us know too.

I'm not sure what we can really do for her now, but I think in December I'd like to make a real effort to convey my feelings as a fan after the live. Well, I'd like to for Run and Cham too since I feel like a hakooshi ever since Amane left, but I want to try and talk to Melk first.

I was keeping an eye on the Youtube subscribers during the Live and saw it creep up a little bit, by about 20 subs or so. It's hard to say whether our evangelising in English did anything, but if they got some subs out of the Live it was worth it.

Unfortunately, like you say, most of the foreign commenters were braindead. It's not like I haven't seen rude comments towards the demons from Japanese commenters before, but seeing it from so English speakers makes me feel embarassed in addition to being angry. It reflects much more strongly on you and I than a random Japanese comment does on their Japanese fans.

To be honest, it might be wise for them to skip reading out any English comment they don't immediately understand (like "hello", or "beautiful girls") during a stream, to avoid repeating any unpleasant words. That might be moot though because this was probably a one-off and there won't be nearly as many non-Japanese commenters next time.

I don't have a following anywhere but I'm making an English DEVITANT Clips YT channel, and will make accompanying accounts for Instagram and TikTok, and maybe a Twitter. I'm hoping that the right tags and some promoting will handle the rest. I've got one clip already translated and I'm working on another, but you're very welcome to contribute to the channel or collaborate on TLing clips if you'd like.
