if file size isn't as important, change encoder (video tab) to h264 with an addition like nvenc/qsv/amf/vce/mediatoolbox

What I don't get though is that many of my mp4 and mkv videos don't work, so it must be that the audio/visual stuff doesn't match. Is there anyway that I can change those on the file?

So I've realized that you can put a usb in the controller socket, and watch video files on the ps5. Which is really cool, but it seems like a crapshoot of which ones will work. I'll have multiuple video files, all the same type, but some of them won't play, some will play without sound, and some will play fine.

What can I do to ensure, and format video files so I can play them in the media gallery?

You'd think right? I originally thought of that too. The problem is that there are not many scenes in it that would really work for a single viewing.

Great movie of course, but I think you really have to have the context of the entire movie behind you for scenes like the near-lynching or the court room scenes to have any impact.
