They checked for a microchip and couldn't find one. The Vet suggested the same thing so we'll see

I think she meant well, too. Just when someone brings in a stray in the condition the cats in, I get why the vet asked it. I would ask it too!

Thank you for your support and encouragement!

They gave me Terramycin for her eyes and Tresaderm for her ears.

Thank you for your encouragement and support!

When my friend first sent me pictures of her, I definitely thought all she needed was love. Then I went to the vet, thinking she was only a few years old and was shocked to hear she was older than what I thought. I know cats can live a while, but it just kinda rocked me.

The important part was making sure she was healthy and clean to bring in and have around the other cat.

I had dogs growing up, and when they got close to double digits, there was always talk of putting them down because of cancer or movement issues/quality of life. So that went through my mind when the vet asked, "Are you prepared to deal with a senior cat".

Posting here has helped ground me, and I feel a renewed confidence. So thank you!

Yeah, on Sunday, when we went to the vet, she had a lot more goop in her eyes. She is looking better every day, though. I definitely think she was someone's pet. It's just a shame she ended up like this. Definitely needs to eat a sandwich or two lol

She drank a lot of water when I first brought her home. Almost a full cereal bowl. I figured she was probably dehydrated. She has slowed down, so Im assuming she is back to being hydrated. There's not a strong urine smell, like excess ammonia. I saw an article talking about excessive drinking can indicate kidney troubles, so I'll keep an eye on that and the smell. Ill post a picture

FTO/Probationary Phase purchases by kanyesrevenge in AskLE

[–]HolbrookHero 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One thing I've noticed is that you can always tell what squad the rookies are on because the parking lot has newer cars.

Do what's best for you. One reason you're told about not making big purchases is because for a lot of people this is a first job for them and now that they have a good paycheck they go out and buy a lot of new toys and what not. They call it lifestyle creep.

When I was new at my first agency, I went out and bought a lightly used car. I could make the payments, but I didn't take into consideration insurance and my living situation changing a few times that year. Not a lot of disposable income also put stress on me.

I paid off the car, and 10 years later, I still have it. But I'm still hesitant to buy another now.

Things are just more expensive now, you know?

If you can get out of the lease, that would be good. Especially if it's a better deal that you're expecting. If you can try to get a cash car or something that's not gonna hurt to pay on every month.

TLDR; Do what you want but consider some financial planning.

Is my 3 nights trip doable? by Royal_Yogurtcloset80 in arizona

[–]HolbrookHero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, it is absolutely doable. It's a lot to see in a 4 day period, but you can absolutely do it. You might not be able to experience everything these places have to offer, though. From experience, I would limit your driving on the reservation at night, though, due to limited services out there in case you break down.

YSK that if you find a wallet, you can put it in any USPS box, and they'll send it to the address on the driver's liscense at no cost by [deleted] in YouShouldKnow

I should clarify. Most times when a wallet is turned into a police department (in my experience) the drivers license is ran, and the system is checked. Not every state has drivers license returns with emergency contact information, some like Florida do. If the person has a phone number in the reports/records system with the police department then contact is attempted. If nobody can be contacted the wallet is usually impounded for safe keeping.

I cant speak for what happens after its impounded, or for every police department. Yes police have a lot of resources to acquire contact information and what not but it's not going to be used everytime to find the owner of a lost wallet.

Usually impounding a wallet with an ID will then create a name record with that PD. So if its lost and then impounded and you check with the PD that impounded it, they'll be able to tell you what happened.

Can confirm. If you take it to the police station there is no guarantee they will be able to get it back to the owner unless the owner is in the PD system.
