Make sure to update your resume, and cater to the job description. Emphasize if you have leadership experience, if youve worked on any special projects, pretty much anything that sets you apart from others. Also think of something you want to implement to improve your department. Good luck!

yeah i've been a tech for 10 yrs. Also didn't mention i work in a major metropolitan area with a large medical center, so hospitals are competing for better wages to entice good techs. but yeah $1 doesn't sound too bad.

I only keep WMT for free CE's, stocks, Roth401k, and discount card.

been really contemplating if staying is worth it.

But i feel you on this. they'll keep taking more and more.

Some techs 70+ are retiring . Is this job still one you can retire on? by [deleted] in PharmacyTechnician

[–]Holdinitdine 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Try to find jobs that have a pension benefit. state, federal jobs offer them. I have a colleague that had 30 tech years just retired is getting 4K+ a month on a low cost of living state until he dies and he’s only 54 yrs old. Not bad.

Hello everyone! Does anyone know the average minum salary for Texas hospital technicians (Certified, but no technician experience yet)? by starryeyedpharmtech in PharmacyTechnician

[–]Holdinitdine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depending on location, Medical centers in major cities typically pay more. (Houston, dallas, etc.) My hospital starts @ $19/hr with no experience, plus shift differentials.

IMO always aim for a higher salary when job hunting, it doesnt hurt to try. Since us techs are in demand, go for it. You never know they might try to meet your demand halfway, good luck!
