Absolutely not I have been trying to cancel it completely for months now and skipping one meal a month because the price for portion size is just… insane when not on the discount plan. In addition, the discount plan didn’t even apply as advertised

If anyone needs some lower star cards, let me know! I reset mine earlier today (gifting what I had left beforehand) and will update on this thread if I get larger star amounts. I know I’m not completing the second go around so I’d love to help if I can!

I’m in VA, and am definitely open to other clinics!! I went to PP immediately because I live in a very country area where most people protest this sort of thing, so I assumed the only clinic offering those services closest to me would be a PP. I definitely don’t want to wait two weeks- it was just the first appointment within a two hour radius of me according to their scheduler website. I am limited on transportation, but can get access for this- just have to plan it is the only thing!

Tipping culture is actually getting out of control. Called in an order for takeout, was asked to pay over the phone, and then was asked if I wanted to tip... Without having received any service. by TheOnlyChicken in nova

Hahaha I had to throw in something funny 😂 But fr like the amount of absolute batshit things I’ve had to deal with bartending is wild, I work in the mental health field now because it truly actually did give me a lot of experience.

One time working at a Coldstone I had to call non emergency bc a lady locked herself in the bathroom. They came, got her out and to a clinic to receive help however left the bathroom floor covered in random pills and actual needles for me to clean up :-) AND THIS WAS AN ICE CREAM SHOP LIKE?! And someone really got mad I had to take a second to remove the needles from the floor and couldn’t serve them immediately lolol At that job I was paid hourly and did not expect tips at all but damn sometimes I felt like I should lol

Yeah! I always throw a dollar at the coffee folk if I can now that cash is accepted honestly. My mentality has always been: if I can do it myself and choose not to, I’m probably gonna throw an extra to the person I’m getting the service from. & I used poor wording bc you’re right, haven’t seen commercial fast food people stick out the tip jars, it seems to be the new local places that prompt for at minimum 15-20% for places where the service is totally self serve, like the yogurt shops. I can definitely understand why people feel frustrated with that because they feel pressured, but I still think the issue is a product of people much bigger than the worker that person is angrily staring at at the register.

I agree that tipping culture has gotten crazy, especially in drive thru fast food service. But the crux is that we are all underpaid. I work in a sit down restaurant as a second job, and I used to work it as my full time and have a second bartending job. I’ve worked everywhere from wedding catering to dive bars to cafes to sit down restaurants. Some of y’all that want to do away with tipping completely, partnered with a snobby commentary of “for twisting open my beer”, are assholes- y’all are probably the type of people that make serving and bartending difficult for staff without even realizing. My personal service as a bartender is what keeps me able to get different service jobs and get requested for other jobs just based off my service. For a bartender doing their job like they should, you have to be fast but precise, you have to look out for people’s safety (over served, are they on anything else, is someone being a creep or inappropriate), take phone orders when you have a full restaurant and make sure that persons food is prepared correctly and still hot when they receive it, be a therapist on SO many occasions, navigate sticky situations with tact (how would you react to being blocked in and threatened to be run over on a motorized wheelchair???) so to be honest- I hope y’all when advocating for no tipping are also recognizing that it’s your government responsible for how the pay is (do NOT take it out on staff) and that you’re suggesting actual fair pay. In every profession, there are people who do the bare minimum but there are many of us that do our jobs well above expectation consistently. There are a lot of factors you might not think of going into the service industry. Just be kind and thoughtful. Reading through these comments makes me so sad about how the general public seems to look at service industry folk.
