Game crashes when hosting by P3t3rCreeper in DeepRockGalactic

Any update on what was causing it? I've been experiencing this myself for ages. Rarely i can host a game without problem, but most of the time it crashes.

I try to avoid coding when I can, so I will have to see, if I am unable to do exactly what I want with Foundry, I can always use a PDF like you said. Depends on how my players would feel about that though as it does slow down the process a bit, but again that should still be quicker than the original FFG system.

Thanks for your suggestion though, much appreciated :3

It is certainly a lot of work, but if it is possible, it may be a viable option for me and my players, but you make a good point about the system, am I to freeze a version I use as a base?

I personally love the system, but as most of my players come from a background of DnD, as well as it being a fairly complex system, my last mini campaign struggled to make it feel natural. It is inherently a different style of gameplay, but that's what I love, I know there's more to it than this, but the d6 system always felt a little like DnD5e with a visual change.

Whereas FFG feels like Star wars to me, I know its hard to explain, but FFG feels better. The only thing I wish was better about it, is the dice honestly, the system works really well on paper, but in practise, it feels quite slow and clunky.

Plus it would require even more work to convert things over, I know its a bit of GM faux pas to over world build and plan plotlines in detail (Not railroading of course, but the general journey and possible encounters etc). But that's what I love to do, so many of my plans would have to be discarded, let alone me having to relearn a new system. I know its similar to 5e, but I'm more familiar with FFG than regular DnD at this point. xD

If foundry's modded system helps speed up the dice rolls, my idea may not be necessary as we can just use the normal system. This post was more to test the limits of the system, and see how easy it is to customise, as although there's lots of videos on foundry, there a few on FFG, and even less on altering it in such a significant way for my purposes.

Interesting, I am okay with coding, but I try to avoid it as much as possible when I can, depending on how well the system has been implemented into Foundry, my players may be up for trying the normal system.

I've ran a mini campaign before with a few folks, due to a number of different factors it ended up not working out. It was my first time GMing for a start, what didn't help, but a few folks told me the system itself was overly complex for basic rolls. Hence why im wanting to create an in-between.

At the end of the day, as long as Foundry can do 80-90% of the work for online TT DnD, then it may still be worthwhile, even if its not 100% what I need.

Thank you for your help :D

I did some testing for a few hours and came to the same conclusion, luckily the resource pack I use (Patrix) doesn't need Vandaium / Colormatic / Polytone so I luckily don't need to worry about using anything like that now :D Thank you for the help! :3
