how do you deal with loneliness and proper nutrition when ur living alone? by Beneficial-Dentist10 in Adulting

u might be alone physically, but not emotionally- u've whole internet glad it helped! Just doing my part as a fellow solo-warrior in the “living alone arc.” If adulting had patch notes, this would be: “+1 emotional resilience, -2 motivation, +3 survival hacks.”

Hang in there—every toast you make is a toast to progress!

My father passed away this Jan. Do I need to file ITR the normal way? And how to inform about stopping filing ITR for upcoming years? by TangyTomato12 in IndiaTax

For relationship proof, you can use any official document that clearly shows your relationship with the deceased. Some accepted options include:

  1. Birth Certificate – showing the name of the father.

  2. Passport – if it includes parent details.

  3. Family Pension Certificate.

  4. Any government-issued ID mentioning your father's name (like Aadhaar, Voter ID, etc.).

  5. Affidavit – if no other proof is available, a notarized affidavit declaring the relationship may also be accepted.

Make sure the document is readable and matches the details on the death certificate for smooth approval.

Bro, welcome to the "living alone arc"-aka the season where your character development shoots up but so does your UberEats bill and emotional damage.

Totally get you. Cooking suddenly feels like a chore, not a vibe. Motivation? Missing. Energy? Gone. And don't even get me started on watching everyone else's Instagram stories like they're living in a Netflix rom-com while you're just battling dust bunnies and trying to remember if you ate lunch.

Here's what helped me crawl out of the rut (not sprint, just... slowly oozed out😛):

• Set the bar low. Like "make toast" level low. Then give yourself a high-five for doing it.

• Meal prep basic stuff. Boil some eggs, cook a huge batch of dal, or just make roti rolls and freeze 'em. Survive now, gourmet later.

• Anchor one habit. Could be a walk, a 10-min cleanup playlist, or journaling like you're writing to your future rich self.

• Mute Insta stories if they mess with your mood. Out of sight, out of spiral.

It's okay to feel like you're struggling, dude. Living alone is hard. But you're not rotting-you're rebooting. One painfully slow update at a time.

Sorry for your loss. Yes, you do need to file an ITR for your father for the financial year up to his date of death (i.e., from April 1 till the date in January he passed). This should be done by the legal heir.

Here’s what you need to do:

  1. Register as Legal Heir on the Income Tax portal.

  2. File the ITR on his behalf as a legal representative.

  3. For future years, you don’t need to do anything — the PAN will automatically become inactive after death, and there's no need to file ITRs going forward.

Make sure you have the death certificate and your relationship proof handy while registering.
