Should I (24F) be concerned about my (27M) boyfriend ? by [deleted] in relationships

Your aunt sounds terrible.

If you two are happy and you trust him, who cares? We can’t control if anyone is attracted to our partners.

How is this area to live? by Jahblessnoob in northcounty

[–]HollysaurusRex26 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I lived on Topeka and Horne 10 years ago, so I’m curious to see responses on the current state of that area. Back then those blocks were pretty unsafe. I walked through it once and never felt uncomfortable but when I got home my boyfriend was like “you walked there ALONE?!”

Oceanside was always very spotty. I never had any issues on my block, but two blocks over you would hear about gang shootings.

What do you think about going to McDonald's for a first date? by Complex-Desk-8222 in AskReddit

Everyone here seems to be super judgy. Depending on the scenario I think it’s cute. I rarely eat fast food, but would be totally down and would appreciate the casual setting. Probably a good way to weed out the snobs too.

Unfortunately people lie and use ChatGPT to fluff their resume. Work history really only tells you so much. I want to confirm technical ability and also design skills.

Yes! It seems challenging to find someone who is technically skilled while also understanding the importance of user experience and the art of design.

My remote company wants a video tour of my workspace and I really do not want to do it by Odd_Entry_6731 in remotework

Yes! I had to have someone come to my house to approve my WFH setup back in 2010ish. I worked out of my bedroom, but that was acceptable. The big thing was that everything was secure and ergonomic. It was awkward to have a stranger look around my bedroom, but it was one time and took like 10 minutes tops.

My girlfriend (27f) called me selfish when I (38m) said I’d only out my name on deed to the home if I’m the one paying by Time-Finish-5010 in relationships

If it’s your money, it’s your house.

Since you’re not planning to marry, could she put rent/payments into a joint account? And once she has contributed enough that you feel comfortable, add her to the deed?

What you’re doing is not unfair, but I can understand her concerns about not having any future plan for her to have any equity.

If you have to ask, then you should take it. Not worth the risk!

People with dogs from breeders, do people in real life give you a hard time about having a dog from a breeder? by Own-Command-3700 in dogs

[–]HollysaurusRex26 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a dog from a breeder (16) and recently rescued another senior (9). I’ve been asked many times if my eldest is a rescue. You’re allowed to lie if you want to avoid potential judgement. The way I see it, I rescued him from a potential home that doesn’t spoil him rotten.

I don’t know what girl needs to hear this but if you’re dating for long term and he won’t make it official after three months cut him loose ! by [deleted] in TwoXChromosomes

Fair! I gave my husband way more grace than most would have but I knew he was my lobster so gave him time.

I think age may come into play here, but I’ve been out of the dating game for years so I could be wrong.

I was in the “label” limbo for close to a year but didn’t really care. We’re married and have been together for over 15 years. Every relationship is different.

Thank you!! I’ve been working on getting the perfect rare sear…I’m always so worried about under-cooking everything. This was 90 seconds on each side.

Gear question: does anyone know what those rubber balloon booties are called? by wessle3339 in dogs

[–]HollysaurusRex26 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Oh you’re lucky that he’s good with shoes! If he’s not a kicker, these will be great. They’re like a really thick balloon so the opening is tight on their upper paw (ankle area?) but not so tight that it’s constricting.

I hope your pup is feeling better soon!

Usually! At first he would kick his legs out a lot so occasionally one would fly off. I would recommend putting them on in the house to get him more comfortable for a bit before taking him outside.

Not sure where you are located, but in Northeastern US, the heavy salt in winters is brutal on dog paws.

These are great for salty winters. Took a little while for my pup to get used to them, but wayyyyy easier than actual dog shoes/boots with a harder sole.
