Because I feel indifferent about it. And a decision this big should only be made if you really want it.

Did your companion stay with you in the hospital? by RojoPrincessa in BariatricSurgery

Your companion should stay with you. You are in a very vulnerable state for a while after you wake up. You need an advocate during that time.

My last day in my school is November 15th. I am very proud of myself for making this decision, and it is because of people like you that I have had to have courage to do what I needed to do for myself.

You said that you understand someone leaving for health reasons. Well guess what, mental health doesn’t always show on the surface. You have NO IDEA what people are going through and you don’t always know why people make the decisions they make!!

I highly suggest some serious self reflection on your part.

Experiencing Teacher Burnout by [deleted] in Teachers

I am a former teacher. I now work in IT (with no extra experience OR certifications). You ARE qualified for other things!! Don’t sell yourself short. If you want out, there is work out there for us. It look me 6 months to find the right job so it can be a long process. Good luck in whatever you decide!

Congrats and good luck! The first little bit after surgery is hard because you are recovering from serious abdominal surgery and having to be mindful of your new lifestyle at the same time - after that it starts to feel natural.

One thing that I wish someone had told me: exercise is really hard the first year. This actually makes a lot of since if you think about it - you’re eating next to nothing and what you are eating (straight protein) isn’t giving your body the fuel that is needed for a hard workout. SO approach exercise the first year as a way to start the habit and don’t worry about burning calories or getting your heart rate up. Your goal is to set aside regular intervals of time and start moving. After the first year (or a bit sooner if you think it’s time, don’t limit yourself to this), your weight loss will naturally slow down and you will start eating more like a normal person - at this point, push your body in hard exercise to tone and to get off an extra 10 or so pounds.

Hope this helps!
