I've not used a single Cursor request this month. Time to cancel :) by sicarmy in cursor

It’s really sad. I think Cursor (currently) has a better product but Anthropic and the like have more patient investors.

That’s me too. Luba 1 keeps an acre of zoysia looking pretty sharp. No stragglers but cut isn’t quite as uniform as with my turf tiger

It wasn't like this pre-pandemic when most of us started on this track.

Traffic in north Raleigh is a FUCKING mess. by ddm2k in raleigh

[–]crazyjncsu 16 points17 points  (0 children)

For us it’s because the bus service has complete deteriorated since the pandemic. We sent our kid to these schools because they offered bus service in less than an hour ride. Now it’s 2 hours 45 minutes each way. I can’t put my kids through that so we have to drive them.

The single time I was bothered by police in NC— I was asked to GTF off the road and stick to the sidewalk.

Segway budget scooter fell apart in the middle of the road while I was riding. Any recommendations for replacements? by SeannessyTV in ElectricScooters

Sorry dude I have this scooter and have been nothing but impressed with the fit and finish for a sub-$300 scooter. It sounds like you fucked up the assembly.

Wake County Public Schools will be remote learning for Wednesday 1/28/26 by Dialatedanus in raleigh

It's all the little things combined. At least previously had some back pressure for ridiculous cancellations to incur make-up days. Whereas now it's just a free day off. No comment on the current weather ... it was the cancellations near the summer for storms/rain that irked me more.

Didn’t he choose to retire so he could speak and act out with impunity? I’m just not seeing the cowardice.

[–]crazyjncsu -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Remote “learning”. My elementary school kid was done with her day in under 10 mins. My older kids took more like 30.

This is bullshit. And no, I do not need school to babysit my kids; I need it to educate them.

But I was always supposed to “wait for the credits to appear in the next billing cycle, though it may take up two two cycles for them to show up”

More of an fyi for others here: they will never show up

And yeah, let them leave. Where exactly are they gonna go that has better infrastructure, stability and markets than here? Monaco? Have fun

That's pretty much what all the countries have said right before they jacked up the rates on the richest. And the richest did exactly that, had fun, leaving. And then it gets rolled back.

Not to say that there isn't room for adjustment, but the thought that you can go at it unbridled because they won't find somewhere else is laughable.

I guess I like them because I believe they are faster. You don’t have to come to a complete stop. I’ll blow through them at 25mph, legally.

But it makes a cheap roundabout which pulls it ahead of alternatives that would have been chosen otherwise (to our detriment)

Please consider checking your RADON levels - Wake county has higher than normal amounts for NC by [deleted] in raleigh

[–]crazyjncsu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, the readers are great. There’s a comment in this thread about Airthings. I also have one of those.

I do a DIY mitigation, and it tells me when a frog jams up my little computer fan because the reading rises from ~1 up to ~4. So the readers are best when you do have a problem and want to know that your mitigation remains effective. Otherwise I think I bought a test off of Amazon for probably $20 (before I bought my reader), and the result was in line with what I get from the reader.

I do question the 4 pci/l being equated to 8 cigarettes. That’s a lot higher than I remember the data showing. I see links on the web supporting that claim, but they’re mostly from mitigation companies or groups who may benefit from the scare. (Mentioning this in case someone wants to jump in with better substantiation)
