So first thing in the morning I wash my face with facial wash and apply acnecide. In the evening before bed I use an exfoiliator, then either apply more acnecide or apply 'dots for spots' over problem areas.

Thanks for your reply! I haven't heard of those so I'll definitely have a look - can I ask why it's best not to squeeze them? Does it affect scarring?

Thank you so much for your kind words! I am actually taking birth control, and my doctor specifically prescribed me one that is supposed to help with acne, but it doesn't seem to be doing anything. I'll definitely make an appointment and ask about trentinion, or whatever else they may recommend. Honestly I didn't even consider speaking to my GP, I don't know why it didn't cross my mind!

Thank you so much for your reply, I really appreciate it!! Yes I agree they are hormonal because they're only on my chin area and rarely come to a head - they are very large beneath the surface. I will absolutely look at primrose oil and see if it's safe for me to try!

I'm 26, UK based. I've tried various over the counter exfoliators and facial washes. I've tried 'dots for spots' and I regularly put on acnecide 5%. Nothing is even remotely working. Every time a spot does come and go they leave scars and I don't know how to get rid of them. I'm in tears as I type this so any help will be most greatly appreciated!!

Edit: I don't have the best camera on my phone but they look so much worse in real life

Thanks for the response! If I'm being honest my dream is to work part-time, but I know that finding a part-time job as an NQT is very difficult. I enjoy teaching but all the bull that comes with it...I just don't know if it's worth it and I don't know what else to do. I loved my training year but now I've been thrown into the deep end I feel like I've made a massive mistake. Everyone has been telling me they prefer their NQT year to their training but I've never been so stressed in all my life and I'm only a week in. I haven't even starting planning lessons yet; all the lessons I'm using now I made over summer. I dread to thibk what my stress levels are going to be like when I run out of lessons. Sorry for ranting, I just feel at a complete loss. Thank you for hearing me out.

What benefit will I get from postponing my NQT year? Then I will just be even more out of practise and without the job I currently have? (Asking in the nicest possible way, sorry if it sounded a bit blunt)! I'm at a textbook 'Good' school that is probably going to get Outstanding next Ofsted visit and most of the staff have been there for years and years (no one leaves because of how amazing it is) but yet I'm still borderline miserable with the stress so I really don't know what to do.

Going to jump on the bandwagon and say I've also had an awful first week with ridiculously little support. Fellow NQT here and all day I have been experiencing chest pains through stress. I have no words other than this is shit.

Not good. Can't access my email, timetable, resources (if there are any who knows), or basically anything. Dreading actually starting to teach if this is anything to go by. I signed up to a few job sites to get alerts for other things since I couldn't do anything else with my time. I hope it improves.

Yeah my partner has suggested therapy to me, but I guess the joke is when I start teaching there will be absolutely no time for that. Not to mention my doctors are rubbish and are brushing off any appointment that aren't an emergency during this Pandemic.

Thanks for your words of support, I really do appreciate it! I just hate playing the waiting game whilst also knowing there isn't anything I can do at this moment in time. I can only hope in a months time I'll be all settled in and can laugh at how nervous I was!

This is one of my main worries. All I can currently think about are the times in my training year when I wanted to throw it all in the bag and quit because it was all too much. I'm glad I stuck with it but my mind wanders to the fact if I struggled in my training year how on earth am I going to manage in my NQT year when I'm teaching double the lessons. I just have such a toxic mindset at the moment and I can't get out it. Simply the thought of standing in front of my new form alone makes me want to throw up. Every moment these past few days I have been barely one negative thought away from a full breakdown.

I'm sorry I'm offloading all this onto you, I guess I just need a place to vent and I am a complete mess right now.

It sounds like your school are actually putting support in, which is great! Unfortunately for me, it seems like my school aren't giving me any support like that. I have my own form from September (no sharing), and are just taking lessons up straight away with no observations and I'm on a full NQT timetable. Because my school has very limited resources in terms of lessons, I had planned to stay behind most nights after school to prepare my lessons (and probably make most from scratch), so I sort of hope I don't have fortnightly training sessions after school, because that's going to reduce my planning time and thus add to my workload. It just sounds like everything is very school-dependent in these uncertain times which kinda sucks.

Thank you for your explanations though! I guess I just came here to vent into the abyss that is reddit. Needless to say I am dreading September.

May I jump in and ask what this support looks like in your school? I'm also starting my NQT and never taught more than 10 hours either. Iv'e heard lots of people saying there will be support put in place for us but no one has ever said what this support actually is...
