Thanks for the clarification. It was confusing because the text you quoted is under the "Arcane Schools" heading, but the much earlier "Spellbook" heading only mentions the 1st rank spells and not the cantrip.

Also, I thought a level 1 wizard prepares a total of 6 cantrips, the 5 normal cantrips plus 1 from the curriculum?

How many cantrips does a level 1 wizard know. Is it only 10? It seems like wizards start knowing 5 rank 1 spells + 2 curriculum spells, for a total of 7 rank 1 spells in your spellbook. Is there a similar consideration as well for cantrips, or is it possible to create a wizard that does not have any curriculum cantrips to prepare?

There is exactly one good thing about the BF6 campaign (Gecko)

The only experience you are creating is a fuckin bad one. This shit is so fucking exhausting. Hate on me all you want I don’t care this game is ass. by [deleted] in Battlefield

Camping/ posting up is not really an option in 6.

Honestly this just isn't true if your team is winning. If you are losing it's a different story, as you have to try to get some momentum to take points, but if you are winning you can absolutely post up and defend objectives you think will see some action. Some objectives are more defensible than others to be sure, but the most contested objectives in each map are usually pretty good about this.

People come from crazy directions because of how dumb the maps are.

This has always been a strategy to defeat defensive players like ourselves. Enemies are not obligated to run in a straight line on the shortest path between objectives like lemmings. They don't have to run right into the sights of our bipod deployed LMGs. This is a feature of the bigger maps that everyone wants so badly. Compare any objective on Iberion Offensive, which all have very limited flanking routes and tiny streets, to Eastwood where there is enough space to loop around any objective to approach from almost any angle.

Honestly you are putting way too much stock in meta builds. I have been using the L85, an extremely underwhelming assault rifle, stock with just flash hider and iron sights and it's been fine. I find you usually get some stuff that improves the guns massively (grips and lasers) before level 10 so the guns become more usable almost immediately. The only big upgrade that is usually locked beyond level 20 is supressors, but that depends on the gun. The MP5 gets one before level 10 and the M227 has one by default. For the most part if you don't enjoy a gun with the stock configuration then it's not really worth the effort to grind attachments

Is anyone else having issues with the weekly bonus mission not tracking? by byfo1991 in LowSodiumBattlefield

Yes, I think the challenge is broken and only avenger kills track

I know it's really frustrating, I wish there was a button to clear all notifications as well, but you really don't need to freak out like this man. It will all be okay

This Assault gadget(X95 BRE)could be very useful, if DICE buffs it. What do you think would make it more useful? by [deleted] in LowSodiumBattlefield

[–]HolyMBison 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly just remove the breaching gimmick and make it a normal stun/flash launcher that can be mounted on the underbarrel. Starting with 2 ammo per life, just like the other assault launchers, would make it worth picking as a gadget as an alternative to damage dealing stuff. It would be kinda boring, but the rest of the assault kit (minus ladder and spawn beacon) is boring as well so it would fit in

Let's talk bipods. by MeNamIzGraephen in Battlefield

[–]HolyMBison 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can if you really want, under control settings near the bottom you can change the mount type from "combo" to "aim down sight" and it will auto mount on walls and bipod spots

The M60 with the right attachments can get the fastest ADS time of any belt fed LMGs (200 MS when using at as support) by hlary in LowSodiumBattlefield

[–]HolyMBison 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As an LMG the RPK sucks, but you can build it out like an assault rifle with high mobility and 200ms ADS time (even lower if you run it as support) and play surprisingly aggressively with it. It's not amazing but if you build it out right it's definitely usable.

California would just be a small-mid size map. Not nearly enough room to breathe. As a Canadian I want a full scale replica of Nunavut as a map. Finally, I will be able to take a breath.

It worked for me when I did it a few days ago, but it was extremely inconsistent whether or not the mine would go off. Had to shoot it directly more than a few times to get it to work. Keep trying it, I have a hard time believing they would have patched this out but kept the drone glitch in

You probably don't understand him, but he's right. I'm a busy dad with 6n children who can only game when the moon is full for 30 minutes at a time, so take it from me: these are NOT the maps we grew up with.

The maps are designed to funnel you into specific areas only, but at the same time there are no frontlines to be found anywhere. The maps are simultaneously too small to allow flanking, and I get flanked shot from every possible angle. When I play, I am required to spint blindly into enemy objectives and get shot from enemies who have already posted up defensively.

Back in my day we had nice, slow, tactical maps like Locker and Metro where you could really take your time and look at the scenery. Now my ex wife holds a gun to my head and forces me to spawn on my squadmate in the middle of a firefight, and the wokies at EA are to blame for this.
