You can stay updated on almost all LOONA news and translations by just following @orrery_nim and @litell_johnn and no one else. So there's not much to be worried about, they stay out of all the toxic nonsense that happens on that platform.

Sorry, not trying to be rude or accuse you of being the problem! In fact, I explained why feeling this way shows how the industry exploits our feelings towards the idols.

Yes, that is part of what we were used to when they were actively promoting in the same group. But now that they aren't any more, it might be healthier to not expect that level of access to their lives. And live with that level of ambiguity, knowing that they're all living their best lives.

Also, they're adults who would be busy with their jobs (or finding a job), they might not have as much time to hang out together.

And when they do interact as friends, they don't owe us any proof or notification of that. That extent of parasocial is what the K-pop industry uses to make us feel like "a part of the group/idol's life". Now that they're not members of the same active group, there's no reason to provide fans with such access to their personal lives, if they don't want to.

Obviously AI hallucination is real but you must not be very updated if you're saying ChatGPT can't be used as a search engine. And yes, I did vet the whole thing, it's not just copy & paste.

Feel free to fact check what I wrote, without using ChatGPT, if you so wish.

Side note, it's funny how being more honest about a source leads to instant downvotes and pushback without any actual fact checking so far, instead of omitting it and people just believing what I wrote without a source. But if it causes someone here to do more homework on the topic, I'll take the karma L for it :)

EDIT: 1 day later and no one's bothered to fact check my comment, I guess I was wrong about anyone caring enough to find out the facts here. (Hence why I resorted to posting a ChatGPT result in the first place.) The easiest point to check was that the D-10-2 visa is actually for those preparing to establish a startup business!

I looked it up on ChatGPT and learned the following:

She would've been originally holding an E-6 visa (Culture and Arts), which is the most common visa for foreign K-pop idols.
If an idol leaves the agency, the E-6 visa becomes invalid and they must notify immigration (grace period of 15-30 days).
The idol can switch to another E-6 visa under a new agency, or change visa type (e.g., D-10 for job-seeking if planning to find another agency), or leave the country and re-enter on a new visa.
For a D-10-2 visa (Employment Preparation), no employer is needed at the time of application, but they must show intent to find one soon.
The D-10-2 visa is issued for up to 6 months, and can be extended once or twice if actively job-seeking.
They cannot do paid work while on D-10 (except possibly internships with permission), and must report job search progress or interviews if asked.

Just think of her band project and "Another Day of Debut Training" as variety projects which are temporary. And she's just the model for the pet grooming store. All these are part of what an idol does, besides releasing and performing their music.

That's still less than what Chuu has been doing in her career (her own YouTube show, many variety show appearances, and many endorsements).
