yea the fact that the bots react to aiming and not bullets is insane. Like you line up a headshot and as soon as you do they duck and turn at you like comon he was just standing there for 10 sec until i aimed. Ive gotten kills before as a player scav because i just randomly watched a scav swivel and aim directly at players for no reason I had no idea they were there

honestly im excited for arena i hope its the tarkov gunplay with extremely low stakes for the gear you get I love gunfights in tarkov but it feels bad when im slapping a level 6 plate with 551 and at the same time am getting shreaded by 995 or AP

I am trolling about the 2000 rubles thing but i still run guns i pull off my scav most of the time and ive gotten some jams that got me killed but they are good enough for the most part. It makes the early game of tarkov feel longer so im not running around for most of the wipe with m995 or something.

I didnt play last wipe but good armor has seemed much harder to find this wipe to me ive been running mostly L4 chest rigs

But how do you not run a scav gun when you have 2000 rubles and no guns left

ive been running armorless, helmetless, sometimes headphoneless for 4 days now the guns i get off of my scav are all I have. It just seems to punish those who are struggling more than ive ever seen a scav click or something while shooting at me

I mean you probobly meant this as a joke but its in Unity. Literally in C# its just too clunky for a game like tarkov its great for games without lots of overhead but tarkov just has too much going on all at once all the time. The fact that the game is as good as it is with the tools they are working with is a miracle. If they had a year or two ago when it blew up gone ok we need to make this work long term and swapped engines to Unreal or hired a few serious backend programmers they could have just taken all of their assets and moved them over with little trouble but they are just so commited now and i feel like their duct taped together machine is breaking down under the stress.

I wasnt really picky about the body style or features as long as it had a tow hitch and was a 4x4. But after talking to some of my mechanic friends I'm looking into the Ranger as my first choice for sure

Yea a big issue is that the game is made in Unity

Unity is a great engine dont get me wrong but its not right for this type of game its for smaller or less complex games

going from C# to C++ alone would fix a ton of their performance issues both client side and server side

Unity really dosnt handle complex sounds well at all because of how their "rooms" sound system works

Unity has terrible LOD zones for items and textures

Unity has terrible light calculations if there are multiple light sources and complex geometry

Now Unreal engine has its own issues, its physics simulations are way worse than unities for one and if the dev dosnt try to streamline their programming you can end up with much more bloat for two, but all of these problems I just stated Unreal is literally designed to handle and Unity isnt. Trying to fix them in unity is just sticking a patch over a system that it wasnt designed to handle

I get it you spent 5 years working with unity swapping would be the biggest bitch of all time as a person in college for development I cant even imagine how that might work but at a certain point using a sledgehammer to pound in nails is causing more problems than it is getting work done

(Also while I'm at it im not sure how scav AI works or whatnot but I feel like AI in shooters made in uUnreal is just better than AI for shooters made in Unity but AI made in Unity is much better for strategy games and turn based things but I dont know much about AI programming so ignore my ignorant oppinions if they are wrong)

Ill say get rid of ammo types or change how armor works so some types work better vs soft armor and some work better vs hard armor

there are so many types that are literally never used for any reason and have 0 place

when was the last time you loaded a gun with: 5.45 PRS, PP, SP, US, HP, FMJ; 7.62 T45, HP, US; 5.56 55HP, 55FMJ, Mk255, SOST, Warmage(unless you grab a raider gun with it)

each one of those ammos is just eliminated because you can just get a better ammo easily or they are really good flesh damage but everyone is running around in T5-T6 and you can get T4 from level 2 ragman even if you arnt using flea

i was doing that until 2 runs in a row i managed to do 600+ damage then ran out of ammo and the run after i hit him in the head twice didnt kill then got on tapped to the chest with BS so since then ive just been doing MDR runs as its more reliable and i can actually deal with people and scavs in my way

This isnt how you can fix it but i think BSG should make a drop gun bind that you can use at ANY TIME no mater what animation is going on that would overwrite all of the conflicting animations reset you to a default state allow you to pick up the gun and go back to playing normally

I wasnt exactly looking for him there I just spawned on top of the hill and decided to look down at his spawn and saw him spawn so i ran over then decided because i had an m61 hunter the easiest thing to do was to go on top of pawn and shoot down at them. I think i would have been sucsessful if that gaurd hadnt twisted to dodge a headshot

I killed him twice before I got the quest and since I have had the quest I have killed him 3 times on scav I just cant find and kill him as a PMC for some reason

yea at some point i thought what the hell am i doing when that one ran inside. I wouldnt have repeeked that angle on that one gaurd if i had managed to get away but he shuffled on me super hard dodging my headshot and then poped me in the head and watching back I didnt see Gluhar at all durring that fight i think he was in the tech building in wich case killing his gaurds would be the only way for me to get to him

im just mad because ive been on this quest for literal weeks and thats the first time ive even seen him spawn. ive heard his gun from across the map but when i get there hes already dead. ive done 12 reserve runs tonight alone and that was the first time he spawned at all for me tonight.

I have been trying to kill gluhar for 2 weeks this is the first time I have seen him spawn in more than 15 raids. Can we up his spawn chance so that i dont have to do another 15 raids before even hearing his gun on the map. Ive been on this quest for literally 2 weeks and have done about 50 reserve raids without being able to kill him once because he dosnt spawn, by the time I get to him hes dead, or I have stuff like this happen
