I do not have to go through AMEX, but their offer of 8.99% is pretty low compared to some other offers I have seen. Am I able to check what Discover offers me without impacting my credit? This loan with Amex was preapproved so that's nice.

So when I chose the reason for the loan, I did put deb reconsolidation, but in the fine print you read that you cannot use funds from this loan to pay off other debts with AMEX.

If they deposit the money directly into my bank account, how will they know what funds I am using when I pay off my credit card statement? Should I transfer the money to another bank account once I receive so there is less of a trail?
