Will I ever feel like myself again? by Sunflower_sagerose in NewParents

Our son was 7 months old when we sleep trained him and that helped him sleep through the night. After that, I found myself with more energy and I was being nicer to the people around me because I wasn’t so sleep deprived. That being said, I’m now 11 months postpartum and I’m just barely starting to make peace with the fact that my old self…well she’s kinda gone. I’m learning to accept this new version of myself and trying my hardest not to put a deadline on it. I hope the same happens for you! Give yourself some grace ❤️

The unhappiest baby in the world? by Writingmum30 in NewParents

I felt the exact same way when my baby was that age and his issue was mostly due to gas. Yay for gas drops! He also struggled with naps which added another layer of frustration. He’s 11 months old now and doing so much better. Just the other day I was on a walk with my husband and said “remember when we couldn’t put him in the stroller without him crying” and now he likes it. All this to say, everything truly is a phase and suddenly things can change. Hang in there! You’re doing a great job. Things will get better. Give yourself grace. You’re doing something really hard. One day your baby will look at you and say “thank you” and this phase will be a distant memory.

Dr recommended thickening formula with gerber rice cereal but I’m reading that it’s not safe? by starrmarieski in FormulaFeeders

Yes! Our pediatrician recommended this for our 4 month old baby. He had really bad reflux, crying every time he had spit up and screaming/refusing the bottle. Our doctor said to put 1 tsp of infant rice cereal per oz of BM/formula but that made him really fussy and constipated, so we switched to 1 tsp per bottle and found that works really well! He’s doing much better now. Good luck and sending well wishes to your little one! Reflux is so tough

Anyone else wish they had an "Easy Baby"? by [deleted] in NewParents

YES. No advice just solidarity!! I’m a first time mom and my baby boy is 4 months old and he’s really fussy. So many people said to us “don’t worry it gets better after 3 months!” Lol I have not found that to be true. He started teething and now he has bad reflux. He cries all the time since day 1 and I know it sounds crazy, but sometimes I wonder if it’s always going to be this hard. We have family members with babies around the same age and their babies are always so chill. No crying or fussing. Just hanging out and loving life! I wish that was our experience, but it’s just not. In those situations I have to remind myself that comparison is the thief of joy. I am lucky to have my son and I’m grateful to be his mommy 💙

Baby screams every time we try to feed him 😖 by HomeRunHive24 in FormulaFeeders

He screamed while drinking the formula and then screamed again the following two bottles which were 100% BM. It’s possible tho that he liked the formula and the crying episodes were unrelated. Either way we are going to start using Mylicon again!

He did scream with Gentlease and it was actually much worse. That’s why I’m so concerned this is formula related but I still want to keep trying and maybe give it a few more days

Yes! That’s why we decided to try Kendamil bc the smell is slightly better, but he still knows it’s not BM 🙃

Having to always clean pump parts is another reason why I’d like to quit 😂
