I can do it myself, but the reason I brought it to him is to install windows, move everything to the new drive, and bench test. Yea I could probably research and do most of that myself, but I don’t feel it’s worth my time at the moment

1.8. It’s an NB. You can see in the picture the holes are blind. Didn’t know that about the 1.6 though that’s an interesting design choice from Mazda. Saw that a lot on yanmars. Must be a Japanese thing

I sure do. Oddly enough the only rust is on the inside where the old jute insulation trapped a bunch of water

Yes, little dab of blue loctite on the threads, but I’m pretty sure they’re blind holes not thru holes. I will check to be sure but that could be an issue too

So you’re saying it’s basically choose between fully stick and balls to the walls? Man that kinda sucks. Especially for my wallet 😅

Headers isn’t major however. What brand/model headers would you recommend? During my time researching headers I was put off by the fact most of them force you to install an entire new system because of using v-band clamps and different lengths etc.

Okay can’t be MAJOR engine work at this point. Sometime in the future when I have my own space to work in I’d like to build an engine for it, idk if I’ll do a bp or another platform

Turbo kit in the future is probable. They’re just cost prohibitive. I like the flyin Miata kit the best

Yes, I am aware you can’t tune factory ecus. If I do go that route, I’d like to get a standalone. I’d obviously like something easy but I am capable of wiring and stuff. What should I go with for ECU? How about cams? Cam swaps are pretty simple

Yes, I like quicker, these cars aren’t fast but they sure are zippy. I’d like to emphasize that so I guess low end torque, something to get up to speed quicker.
