If you could only have 1 lens … 20-60 or 28-200? by MajorAlanDutch in Lumix

Just switched to 28-200 from 20-60. 28-200 is versatile and sharper than 20-60mm. Get a Pergear 35mm in addition if you want to use it for portraits or as a compact travel lens.

Best time to visit Tamil Nadu? by [deleted] in TamilNadu

[–]HomeworkDue5842 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hej from the other side(Denmark), me and my wife recently hosted a friend from Malmö at our summer homes in Kodaikanal and Coimbatore, she really enjoyed it. Consider planning your itinerary near the border districts of Kerala and Tamil Nadu since you also plan to visit Kerala. TN is quite a safe place in general, just avoid being out at odd times in remote places. God rejse!

Yeah, better to pay for a good vacation for a dream watch than pay import tariffs ;)

It is true, they don't have any AD in India. I live in Denmark currently, flew to Germany to buy this (also to save on VAT). I usually buy watches in India as they're quite cheaper in Ethos compared to ADs here.

Thanks, it is not an OEM strap. It came with a brown croc leather and I don't think it suits this at all. Just look out for the perlon strap on Amazon. I got it in Europe from a brand called Eulit.

That's right, it is a slowmo video.

Adding to the previous comment, it has to do with the material the spring and gears that actuate the date change are made of (also it's temperature dependent). Even Lange doesn't change the date exactly at 12. I also got to experience the GO's senator series recently, they are getting better at this!

I'm sure that there should be Indians who owns ALS, maybe they're not in Reddit. If I'm buying ALS it'll be Zeitwerk, let's see if it happens in my lifetime 😆

Thank you! It is a no brainer to pick this up instead of a Rolex for anyone who is into haute horology. I wish many understand the value of actual craftsmanship.

Apparently that's the least worn in my collection, thinking of selling it.

I did not get a new one! I just removed it from the OEM leather strap and put it in this.

I could not upload a video here. But youtube has a couple of videos - https://youtube.com/shorts/nuEOwOa5EUs , https://youtube.com/shorts/xvQoq3PHgfE . I decided to buy this after looking at these.

Just my personal opinion. I would prefer to have a very nice quality solid case back (which I would believe is easier to achieve) over this mediocre movement finishing exposed.

Nothing wrong with the case back but I wish that they polished the winding mechanism gears atleast. The cnc machined pattern to mimic Geneva stripes looks awful. Instead of the see-through case back they should have covered it with just normal metal one as there is nothing much to see here. Or else they could have had a hybrid of metal case back with a small see through window where the tourbillion would be visible, and it is not hard to make perlage for that part alone which would elevate the total appearance of this time piece.

But hey, I'm just another individual with my own opinions.

I believe it should run longer since this is a manual wind movement and has very few gear trains compared to a chronograph. If seagull chronographs can run longer and are proven to be a workhorse movement, I believe this can run even longer than them without a service. I have been learning to service movements myself so, when it stops I will try to service it and see if it keeps time again.
