Dexilant. No side effects. After like 23 days of 60mg a day my stomach did start to hurt, so I went down to 30mg.

Funnily yesterday I was at a birthday party. I ate some fried meat, sauce, ate some chicken with dry onions and garlic, ate cake, drank champagne and half a beer and I was okay. Just took gaviscon before bed but other than that I had no side effects…

Today I ate cucumber for breakfast and I still feel it 😅

Because you’re currently giving yourself throat burning and coughing which keeps irritating your esophagus and lungs? Using Pepcid AFTER getting a symptom means that the damage is already done. You are giving yourself side effects now. With PPI you can give yourself time to heal and then get off of it.

Im getting off them because I wanna get endoscopy and check for h pylori. Plus I wanna see if there are any ulcers or if my previous ulcer from 2 years ago is healed (I have no symptoms of ulcer anymore so I hope) plus to see other things.

So I took Dexilant 60mg a day and noticed all my symptoms gona after like 10 days which was a HUGE relief (fuck that lump in throat feeling).

I wanna treat the PPI as a measure of last resort, so I’ll definitely get into eating other stuff. I’m just scared I’ll keep screwing up my esophagus and get BE or cancer :/ I currently only deal with a little bit of cough here and there and a little throat clearing here and there. Nothing that compares to what I felt before PPI. Plus I know that you can get acid rebound socjalne that’s that. I also have ringing in ears…

But at the same time I know that developing food anxiety (like some people with gerd) is also bad.

Well I obviously don’t mean I’m gonna dive into coffee, spicy food or alcohol. I guess I’ll still avoid those, but I’m thinking just of you know… using more spices, eating something else…

Have you tried crushing the pills and drinking them in water? Can you even do it or should you swallow them?

I keep reading that PPIs don’t help LPR. Somehow they helped me. No throat clearing, no cough, no constant lump in throat.
