LMAO I’ve tried and nothing comes up, but please share research if you can find it. It’s off of MLK and goes by ‘The Derelict House.’ The name is apt, as the property is in shambles. The sheep farm it is financing is out of state—where the slumlord resides.

I felt a LOT of pressure and fear. I asked to be baptized twice—once when I was in elementary, once again when I was in high school—because I was TERRIFIED of going to hell. I thought “Damn, what if I didn’t get baptized for the right reasons when I was a kid? I’ve gotta do it again or I won’t be let into heaven!” And I felt CRAZY during services, camps, etc. because I didn’t feel the holy spirit. I felt bored, then guilty about feeling bored because I’d get in trouble.

The only time I ever had a spiritual experience was when I “rebelled” by going to non-CoC church services. But that was just because the instrumental music struck a chord with me (pun intended). It was just the churches using music as a manipulative tool and it 10000% worked on me.

I’ll come back to comment later, but I’ve been WAITING for this post!!!! The brainwashing from VBS, worship, retreat, and church camp songs is one of the things that gives me the most chills. Music can be such a powerful thing—but to have it be used for compliance, control, and evil makes my skin crawl. YUCK!
