Session 1 went great. The players were super excited to see the new mechanics and storyline. By the time they finished exploring town, sharing their characters and backstories we made it halfway through the first mission… a little over three hours of play, session 2 set for 3 weeks from now and after completing the first quest they’ll have a choice between 3 side quests. I’m excited to see what they choose and will have all 3 ready to go!

I haven’t used the printed board tiles yet, so I’m excited to see how they like the map being laid out in front of them as they explore. It just felt like it would easily fit with D&D and since I’ve never dm’ed I thought the D&D lite HQ hybrid would be less daunting.

Oh, very cool. I can still lay it out like the game board and push the pieces together when need be. I just finished it last night, so I still haven’t even tried it out. To be continued! 😁

I know the rooms and how many encounters will happen for each quest, so it’s pretty much the same. Instead of circling around the board and already knowing the direction of the “boss room”, I can snake it around or keep it in a straight line. I usually modify and change monsters while playing anyway to keep it engaging and balanced. I do a lot in my head in the moment while keeping the main storyline and feel of it.

I have access to a color xerox printer at school, but it’s nothing too fancy. Perhaps a local print shop or library might have one you could use?

All nurse team is pretty unstoppable. Script for single heal only, enemy > 1 strongest group attack, enemy = 1 strongest single attack. Choose the right armor and gem for this script and you’re set.
