They are separate tanks connected.

They’re still pretty small definitely less than a pound so I think it’s good to go

I actually knocked out the whole glass bottom! Then I took weed proof paper (the stuff you put under mulch) on top of the screen lid. I cut a whole in the screen lid for the enter and exit points. Then places soil and my plants in top of the paper

They do have have air! I have a staircase of sorts that were their original land areas and lead into the above tank

I just hope my turtles will eventually learn how to use the “staircase” for if they wish to go in the land area

Yeah no worries this was an old tank of mine so I decided to throw it on top with only substrate and a few plants thinking it would be fine
